Stef has a degree in biochemistry, and recently starred in the British reality TV show Dancing On Ice 2022.In this episode she shares the story of the boating accident that caused the loss of her foot as a teenager and the struggle that followed. Opening up about what helped her through this difficult time, Stef discusses the importance of allowing others to help you and welcoming team-work. Having had a series of coaches, with varying methods, Stef shares what she looks for in a coach and how she learns from them. Rather than asking questions, for Stef, the learning comes from watching. The things that set people apart are the way they handle the mundane aspects of life…They delve into imposter syndrome, self-doubt and embracing failure. - - - - - - - - -Our live tour is coming to Norwich, London, Nottingham, Oxford, Northampton, Glasgow, Cardiff, Guildford, Leeds, Manchester. Oli France has led many expeditions, guiding groups through some of the world’s most hostile destinations, from Syria to Iraq, Somalia to Siberia, Congo to Yemen. Here, he has encountered countless bleak situations. He has been caught in a 6.9 magnitude earthquake, held at gunpoint, detained for 5 days on the Afghan border and severely ill with meningitis, while facing spies, interrogations, militia groups, avalanches and more. All this, while attempting to complete intrepid journeys across the globe. What he has learned, however, is that in the bleakest places and the hardest situations we can encounter untold beauty, if we allow ourselves to find it.His experiences have helped him to develop a range of mental strategies, which he will share alongside harrowing and uplifting stories from his adventures:How can we reframe and regain control over our most ambitious goals? How can we shift dire situations into positive outcomes? How can we become the master over our restrictive perspectives? With these guiding principles, we can begin to realise that the difficulties we face need not define us or limit our aspirations. We have the power to seek the good amongst the bad, to find resilience through adversity, and to become undaunted by even the harshest setbacks. Even in the darkest places, we hold the power within us to uncover the light.Watch the full keynote here on The High Performance Circle (you can sign up for free): https://www.thehighperformancepodcast.com/all-content/oli-france-finding-light-in-the-darkest-places Hosted on Acast. Great pod. Amazing to hear Ants mindset and as a CBT counsellor and high performing leader and with my understanding mindsets I really connect with where he is coming from and how that developed in his life with his micro experiences as a 5 year old growing up leading to his amalgamated experiences that have also reinforced his growth mindset into adulthood. Great pod, love listening to you both and your guests. keep up the good work.

How disappointing that Osi thinks all white people have money . Worse, he came from money. You should have challenged that nonsense. It's really disappointing he made those remarks because in many ways he's an incredibly inspirational and articulate athlete.

Loved this episode. I was lucky enough to participate in 7 marathons in 7 days in 2014 I struggled on Day 1 as it was hot and I got cramp. On Day 3 I decided I couldn't run the remainder but wanted to walk them as I didn't want to let myself down, people who had sponsored me down and my 3 team mates. Unfortunately like Kevin mentioned in his experience one of our team was very selfish and on 2 occcassions left the team for his own goals. This resulted in a bad taste being leftcat what was a great experience having raised money for 7 different charities. Kevin's comments really hit home on how he self reflected and apologised something the person in our team didn't...... Fair play to him a great listen 👍🏻👌🏻
