BodyBio sponsored this podcast. IN THIS EPISODE OF THE HUMAN UPGRADE™… you’ll learn how butyrate and phospholipids keep your gut, cells and brain performing at their best. You’ll find out how your mucosal barrier defends against pathogens in your gut microbiome. You’ll also learn about discoveries in the field of cell membrane medicine. This focus determines how your body functions now and also how you age.Jessica Kane Berman joins the show to share new information and interesting science about cellular health from the perspective of BodyBio, the company founded by her grandfather, Ed Kane, an inventor, health explorer and early biohacker. He went looking for answers to his own health issues in the 1980s and got deep into the science of fatty acid research and cell membrane medicine through blood testing.BodyBio sticks to a very specific group of products, most notably butyrate and a phospholipid complex of phosphatidylcholine. Jess explains how true liposomal phosphatidylcholine and phospholipids get through to the cells to help rebuild that membrane. Here’s a few good things butyrate does in your gut:Helps maintain the thickness of the mucosal barrier—keeps the good in and the bad outHelps the expression of tight junctions and strengthens the gut wallExpresses MUC2: this produces mucus, which thickens your mucous liningRegulates T-Cells and helps lower cytokine releaseIncreases microbiome diversityAnti-inflammatory properties help improve intestinal barrier function and mucosal immunityButyrate goes way beyond the gut to influence bone mass and density, asthma and allergies, histamine intolerance, body detoxification, inflammatory brain pathways, and mitochondrial function. Butyrate also can alter gene expression, protect against cancer, and regulate the body’s immune system.SPECIAL OFFER FOR THE HUMAN UPGRADE LISTENERS: https://bodybio.com/dave, use code DAVE25 to get 25% offWE APPRECIATE OUR PARTNERS. IN THIS EPISODE OF THE HUMAN UPGRADE™…a legacy upgrade conversation with Dr. Joe Dispenza explores how you can change from the inside out through a combination of neuroscience, epigenetics, quantum physics—and even a divine source. “I teach people the science of changing their mind and what it is to truly transform,” he says.He shows people how to rewire their brains and recondition their bodies to make lasting changes by way of science, energy and mysticism. His background and expertise include training in neuroscience, neurology, cellular biology, brain function and chemistry, memory formation, and aging and longevity. From healing illness to evolving consciousness, Dr. Dispenza examines how to connect with the divine and bridges the mystical with science. “It's really important to have science demystify that process,” he says. Why? Because science is a contemporary language that offers you explanations, helps you understand the how and why, and assigns clear meaning. “Here's what I know,” Dr. Dispenza says. “We have evidence that you can make your brain work better. As you can prove also, we have evidence that you can make your heart work better. We have evidence, you can strengthen your immune system. We have evidence, you can change your gene expression in four days. We have evidence, you can lengthen your life from meditation, just by lengthening your telomeres and changing your state. We have evidence in the scientific world that people actually can transform.”Listen on to learn about the power of inner work, elevated emotions and human connection.WE APPRECIATE OUR PARTNERS. CHECK THEM OUT!A Cleaner Nicotine Alternative: https://lucy.co, use code DAVE20 for 20% off your first order of pouches, gums or lozengesCustomized Nootropics for Your Own Neurochemistry: https://nootopia.com/dave, use code DAVE10 to get 10% off. IN THIS EPISODE OF THE HUMAN UPGRADE™… you’ll learn about a “6 Phase Meditation” approach that absolutely everyone can do—and benefit from!—no exceptions. This custom-designed meditation sequence gets you into a peak state in just a few minutes. No boredom, special breathing, or clearing your mind required. You’ll find out how to make meditation work for you and how you can use intuition as one of your greatest strengths.Episode guest Vishen Lakhiani took up meditation at age 26 as a way to cope with the stress of working for a startup in Silicon Valley. That decision changed his life so dramatically that within two years he quit to pursue meditation, other tools of personal development, and then spread awareness and education to people around the world. He’s taught his signature 6-phase meditation style to world-class athletes, professional entertainers and high-performers in all types of business. He also founded Mindvalley, an international learning platform.Vishen’s newest book, “THE 6 PHASE MEDITATION METHOD: The Proven Technique to Supercharge Your Mind, Manifest Your Goals and Make Magic in Minutes a Day,” outlines a series of science-backed mental exercises for accomplishing your goals. It condenses the wisdom of nearly 1,000 neuroscientists, monks, yogis, and meditation experts into a hyper-efficient programming script that you can run through your mind any time of day.Unlike traditional meditation that encourages a calm and serene environment, the 6 Phase Meditation Method can be done from anywhere—your bed, your office or even on your next flight. “It's six different practices that you layer on that put you in a hyper-optimized state,” Vishen says. You’ll get a lot out of this fascinating conversation that gets into realms of spirituality, psilocybin, perceptual diversity, physics, brain waves, and altered states. SPECIAL OFFER FOR THE HUMAN UPGRADE LISTENERS: Mindvalley.com/books/6phaseWE APPRECIATE OUR PARTNERS. IN THIS EPISODE OF THE HUMAN UPGRADE™ … you’ll learn to define what’s really “normal” when it comes to your health. You’ll explore how today’s culture stresses the body, burdens the immune system, and undermines emotional balance. And why Western medicine often fails to treat the whole person. This conversation covers an investigation into the causes of illness, a critique of how our society breeds disease, and offers a pathway to health and healing. One of the surprising things you’ll learn has to do with authenticity.“The loss of authenticity is one of the major impacts of trauma,” says renowned Canadian speaker and bestselling author, Dr. Gabor Maté. “It's also a major cause of physical and mental illness.”Dr. Maté is highly sought after for his expertise on topics like addiction, stress, trauma, and childhood development. He spent two decades in family practice and palliative care. He also worked for over a decade in Vancouver’s Downtown East Side (Canada) with patients challenged by drug addiction and mental illness. In his newest book, “The Myth of Normal: Trauma, Illness, & Healing in a Toxic Culture,” he pushes back on the prevailing understanding of “normal” because it neglects the roles that trauma and stress—and the pressures of modern-day living—exert on our bodies and our minds at the expense of good health. “If you're suffering, don't accept it as normal, but ask what's going on here?” Dr. Maté says. “Let the suffering instruct you that there's something going on; that what you think is normal is actually not healthy or natural for you.”WE APPRECIATE OUR PARTNERS. IN THIS EPISODE OF THE HUMAN UPGRADE™... you’ll learn that while yes, testosterone fuels energy and performance, it’s not the be-all and end-all solution for men’s health woes. A systems biology approach considers many other aspects and provides a broader perspective about what’s going on with you. This conversation features board-certified urologist Tracy Gapin, M.D., one of the 8th Annual Biohacking Conference keynote speakers. He’ll be on the main stage in Beverly Hills in September. He joins this special preview episode to discuss new ways for men to improve their health and performance. He uses epigenetic coaching, hormones, peptide therapy, biometric monitoring, and unique nutrition and lifestyle interventions.“Testosterone levels over the last 30 years are down by about 30 percent,” Dr. Tracy says. “Free testosterone, which is the bioavailable, active hormone testosterone is actually down over 45%. This is really important. We're not just talking about sex and muscle, we're talking about a man's life and cardiovascular health and cognitive function. The culprit can be debated, but without question, one of the biggest ones in my mind is endocrine disruptors. Toxins, chemicals in our environment that are clearly crushing men's health, clearly crushing testosterone. It's the food we eat, it's the water we drink, it's the personal care products. It's ubiquitous, it's almost everywhere and it's getting worse.”In his book, “Male 2.0™: Cracking the Code to Limitless Health and Vitality,” he says medical school, residency training and even a two-decade career in urology and surgery specialties didn’t teach him how to get to root causes of men’s issues and solve them. He had a health crash of his own at 42. Since neither he nor his doctor had good answers, he went on a quest of discovery and change. He founded the Gapin Institute for High Performance Medicine and created the proprietary N1 Performance Health Program to go beyond conventional options. This conversation goes even further into what creates epigenetic signals that affect the function and expression of your genes. You’ll learn, too, that your mindset, stress and environment—and how you do or don’t control those things—have everything to do with your energy and focus. If you’re aiming for higher performance, Dr. Tracy suggests a trifecta that makes sleep a priority, builds resilience to stress, and creates consistent behaviors with intention.More about Dr. Tracy Gapin: He’s a member of the American Academy of Anti-Aging, the Age Management Medical Group, and the International Peptide Society. He spent almost 20 years at a urology practice in Sarasota, Fla., where he specialized in robotic surgery, minimally invasive treatment for prostate cancer, and men’s health.SPECIAL OFFER FOR THE HUMAN UPGRADE LISTENERS:  TEXT “HEALTH” to 2 6 7 8 6 to get three bonus gifts.***WE APPRECIATE OUR PARTNERS. You’ll learn about the hormonal shifts that happen at different ages and life stages and get tips on how to balance hormones and make them work for you, not against you. This conversation features Anna Cabeca, D.O., one of the 8th Annual Biohacking Conference keynote speakers. IN THIS EPISODE OF THE HUMAN UPGRADE™...…you’re listening to a new Upgrade Spotlight episode with Omni-Biotic. You're going to find out how probiotics can do more than keep your gut microbiome in order—specific strains can help you manage your stress and regulate your body’s detox system. The beneficial bacteria in your gut support essential processes in the body, such as digestion and absorption, immune function, detoxification, and brain function. But did you know that 80% of the immune system lives in the gut and 95% of serotonin is produced in the gut? That’s a lot for the gut to do! Keri Glassman, MS, RD, CDN, joins the show to talk about one of her favorite topics—the gut-brain axis. Keri’s a registered dietitian, certified nutritionist, healthy cooking expert and author of four books. She also founded Nutritious Life, a lifestyle and media company and Nutritious Life Studio, an online education platform focused on nutrition, coaching, and business. In this conversation, you’ll learn how Omni-Biotic’s unique delivery mechanism and multi-species, multi-strain formulations work together to upgrade your gut AND your brain. The gut-brain access goes two ways, Keri explains. “Your brain is affecting your gut. Your gut is affecting your brain—and from everything. That's why it's so incredibly important to maintain that healthy microbiome and to have a healthy balance of good [bacteria].”To target the gut-brain axis, Omni-Biotic developed special formulations called psychobiotics: one for detox, the other for stress. Then they put them to the test in clinical studies.Hetox contains eight beneficial bacterial strains. Clinical studies show improvements in liver function, cardiometabolic markers and inflammation markers related to liver health. Clinical studies show that Stress Release supports digestion and the gut flora during times of stress, reduces intestinal inflammation, increases emotional balance, cognition, and mood.  More to Know About Omni-Biotic Probiotics: Omni-Biotic also tests its probiotics in an artificial GI simulator against other top probiotic brands in the U.S. market. It ensures that 83% of its probiotics arrive alive and active in the intestines. In comparison, the probiotic survival rate of other brands averages 7%. The bacterial strains in Omni-Biotic are freeze-dried to make them more shelf-stable and the powder contains specific prebiotic nutrients. These prebiotic nutrients serve as the food source for the probiotic bacteria. SPECIAL OFFER FOR LISTENERS OF THE HUMAN UPGRADE: Visit https://www.omnibioticlife.com and use code Dave20 to get 20% offWE APPRECIATE OUR PARTNER, HIGHER DOSE. IN THIS EPISODE OF THE HUMAN UPGRADE™...… you’ll learn how to recognize your own sh*t and be a better partner in relationships. Want a sustainable partnership? Communicate and apologize; fight without fighting; identify codependent behavior (your own); and manage jealousy (also your own). This conversation gets into how you can let go of unrealistic ideals of how you think love and relationships should be and live fully in the present. You’ll also get tips on how to be emotionally responsible to people you love every day.Guest John Kim, a licensed marriage and family therapist, as well as a life coach, cracks his life into two big pieces… split on either side of what he calls “the great divide” of his own divorce several years ago. He did the whole “get a tattoo and a Harley” thing to find his way.He also combined what he learned in therapy school with life coaching and technology to be mobile and create online communities. He became known as an unconventional therapist, seeing clients at coffee shops, on hikes, or in a CrossFit box. He’s built a devoted following of fans who love the frank and authentic insights that he—as “The Angry Therapist”—freely shares on social media. Dave Asprey partners with Nillion as an advisor and investor.IN THIS EPISODE OF THE HUMAN UPGRADE™...… you’ll learn about the frontier of web3 and privacy and what happens to your private data (both on blockchains and in general). You’ll also find out how and why the future moves away from transactions (blockchain) and into computations (multi-party computation). Think about where you store your identity and your deepest digital secrets. The current solutions aren’t great — in web2, the Big Tech 'old guard' has been quietly storing and monetizing your data for over a decade, and in web3, blockchains aren't designed to handle private data. A new algorithm, Nillion, inspired Conrad Whelan (the Founding Engineer of Uber) to come out of early retirement and do something about this. This conversation looks at the data you unassumingly give away freely, and how it’s captured, held and used/computed on without your consent by large companies and other parties. Conrad believes in a future where your sensitive data and digital secrets can be fully controlled by you (and you alone) using web3 technology. This means you’d be the final gatekeeper of your data with the power to authenticate, authorize and use it as you see fit.Conrad’s building that future as Nillion’s Founding Chief Technology Officer. His background includes electrical and computer engineering. He worked in the fields of computational electromagnetics before joining Uber as Founding Engineer. He’s developed, tested, deployed and architected software projects at all levels of the software stack as both an engineer and an engineering manager. In 2016, he retired to focus his efforts on philanthropy and personal passion projects while keeping an eye on the tech world. The promise and potential global impact of Nillion enticed him out of retirement and into the company’s CTO role. What Conrad is building at Nillion aims to:render both computational encryption and centralized storage of private data obsolete;fundamentally change the way private data is stored and processed;offer alternative non-blockchain ways of using decentralized nodes;serve as a ‘Meta Layer’ that provides new and additional functionality to existing blockchains; andenable a host of new real-world applications on its native public network (the Nillion Network).Whatever your level of tech understanding, this discussion offers critical insights about the next big move in decentralized computing and data privacy.Find more info in the show notes on this episode's webpage: https://daveasprey.com/conrad-whelan-971/WE APPRECIATE OUR PARTNERS. IN THIS EPISODE OF THE HUMAN UPGRADE™...… you’ll learn why regenerative methods for taking care of soil and raising animals provide a solution that creates food sovereignty, improves human health, and helps reverse climate change. Previous episodes of this podcast featured regenerative farming and soil conservation topics. Dave Asprey keeps the conversation going because when you know what’s happening and what companies are doing about this problem, you can be informed and take action to support regeneration efforts in your own way.Robby Sansom, co-founder and CEO of Force of Nature, joins the show to talk about the new developments igniting real change. His roots run deep in the natural food community, caring for soil and caring for animals. He spent much of the last decade studying regenerative agriculture at ranches all over the world. Through this education, he helped found the Austin, Texas-based regeneratively sourced meat company, Force of Nature. The company’s building brand new global supply chains of grass-fed and regeneratively managed livestock. Force of Nature works in partnership with land stewards, ranchers and farmers committed to creating a positive return on the planet. There’s an undeniable sense of urgency about the state of soil and its ability to provide enough food for a growing population. Over more than a hundred years of conventional farming and ranching depleted land and disrupted natural ecosystems. These harms (have and continue to) adversely affect animal and human health. Force of Nature focuses on repair and regeneration—in their own operations and by educating farmers and ranchers from homesteaders to big corporations. In spring 2022, Force of Nature hosted a What Good Shall I Do? event about learning and leading with regenerative intent. This educational forum hosted several dozen speakers from soil scientists to leaders in the regenerative movement to individual farmers and ranchers. By providing information, resources and tools, conventional farmers and ranchers can make the switch to regenerative methods. And farmers and ranchers who already use regenerative methods can improve and have even more impact. You can get involved, too! In this episode, Robby talks about the true cost of meat and gives tips on what to look for in your own local grocery and how you can support regenerative agriculture and ranching in a way that aligns with your own values. Every small step toward change contributes to a larger movement.SPECIAL OFFER FOR THE HUMAN UPGRADE LISTENERS: Visit https://forceofnature.com and use code dave10 to get 10% off your first order.DON’T MISS THIS! Force of Nature will be providing meat at select 8th Annual Biohacking Conference events coming up in September. Get your ticket.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

IN THIS EPISODE OF THE HUMAN UPGRADE™... … you’ll learn about shamanism, “spiritual minimalism” and how traditional healing arts connect so profoundly to the natural world. This conversation also explores distinct themes of consciousness, the soul, and deep respect for plant medicine and Ayahuasca ceremony. The guest, Shaman Jorge Hachumak, is a Peruvian of Spanish descent who’s made a winding journey into shamanism as a healer. After receiving a European education, he became a practitioner of Chinese Qigong in old Lima’s (Peru) China Town. After a successful career in tai chi competition, he worked with elderly patients in hospitals in Northern Peru. During this time, he was taken under the wing of native shamans, witches and herbalists who spent years teaching him the ancient healings. He learned ancient Peruvian medicine arts (not from the Incas, but from the North Coast and the Northern jungle of the Amazon). He now moves seamlessly between perspectives, having one foot firmly in the rational, scientific world and another in the spirit world.“The ancient healing arts are deep and expansive—you never stop learning, and what you learn in a lifetime will always be a small fraction of what is available to learn,” he says in his new book, “Journeying Through the Invisible: The Craft of Healing With, and Beyond, Sacred Plants, as Told by a Peruvian Medicine Man.” “I want to offer a larger picture of the Medicine Craft and to create appreciation for other important aspects that are endangered or still not well-known.”This larger picture includes influences from science, history, religion and the natural environment.Shaman Hachumak looks at consciousness as two states that lead to both deep understanding of the healing arts and deep self-reflection:Suffering Consciousness keeps us stuck in our negative waysSoul Consciousness is awakened during a ceremony or spiritual moment. Your entire being awakens, and you are shown the way to live according to the dictates of your conscience and the teachings of the spirits. He also uses his knowledge and experience to broaden people’s understanding of Ayahuasca as a powerful plant medicine. He works to protect Ayahuasca and the traditional ceremony from misuse and exploitation. WE APPRECIATE OUR PARTNERS. IN THIS EPISODE OF THE HUMAN UPGRADE™...… you’ll find out about the relevance of shamanism in a modern world and why high performers are turning toward shamanic practices to get ahead. The show’s guest, Manvir Singh, Ph.D., is an anthropologist at the Institute for Advanced Study in Toulouse, France. He studies universal or near-universal cultural practices, including music, shamanism, and witchcraft. For the past seven years, he’s conducted ethnographic fieldwork in Indonesia. He recently wrote an article in WIRED magazine titled, “The Shamanification of the Tech CEO,” noting some curious parallels.“Silicon Valley austerity continues to grow more extreme. By 2020 intermittent fasting was no longer enough, and dopamine fasting—an abstention not just from food but from any form of stimulation, including music, eye contact, and playing Magic: The Gathering—had taken off. These self-denial fads are often touted as biohacking innovations. Yet as an anthropologist who has studied austerity in some of the most remote regions of the world, I see them as part of a larger pattern: the self-shamanification of tech CEOs.”“Analyzing an old dataset of 43 nonindustrial societies, I found that shamans in 81 percent of the societies observed prohibitions on food, sex, or social contact. Given that these data were collated from reports by travelers and anthropologists, they are probably an underestimate. Silicon Valley deprivation, it turns out, is less a strange, new development and more the most recent manifestation of a ubiquitous shamanic practice.”This conversation gets into:shamanism in generalthe cultural significance of shamanshow shamanic practices have made their way into modern culturewhy humans think they need shamans—or similar “magic” or “other” beings More about Manvir Singh, Ph.D.:  Manvir earned a Ph.D. in Human Evolutionary Biology at Harvard University and a Sc.B. with Honors in Human Biology: Evolution, Environment, & Ecosystems at Brown University. IN THIS EPISODE OF THE HUMAN UPGRADE™...… you’ll find out how your imagined future directs your behavior right now, rather than your past. You’ll learn how to manage threats to your future self, recognize truths about your future self, and how to take steps to be your future self. You’ll also gain strategies you can start using today for creating and becoming exactly who you want to be in the present moment.Benjamin Hardy, Ph.D., is an organizational psychologist and author of multiple books on how to improve your mindset. He joins the show to explain how you can borrow from your future and actually be that person right now. In his newest book, “Be Your Future Self Now: The Science of Intentional Transformation,” he says, “Research now shows that a person’s past does not drive or dictate their actions and behaviors. Rather, we are pulled forward by our future.” There’s no looking back, only moving ahead. Most people, out of fear, limit their view of the future to a narrow range. Take a dangerous leap to think more broadly. Take cues from your brain.“With neuroscience, the brain is essentially considered a prediction machine,” Ben says. “So, what the brain is always doing is predicting what's going to happen, and learning is essentially just updating its sense of predictions. The brain is always anticipating the future.”Since you’re already thinking about the future, put those thoughts to use in the here and now with 21 actions  (7 threats to, 7 truths about, and 7 steps for being your future self) designed to transform yourself. For example:Offset a THREAT: Urgent battles and small goals keep you stuck. To exit the rat race of day-to-day mindset requires a shift in your focus. Face a TRUTH: Failing as your future self is better than succeeding as your current self. The more willing you are to invest in momentary loss and pain directed at a goal, the faster you’ll adapt to the level of your future self. Take a STEP: Schedule your future self. Put the important before the urgent. Once you commit to your Future Self, you’ll be required to be courageous. Choosing freedom over security is an act of courage.WE APPRECIATE OUR PARTNERS. IN THIS EPISODE OF THE HUMAN UPGRADE™...…a legacy upgrade conversation with Byron Katie will have you digging deep into the work of fine-tuning your mindset. Her keystone practice, The Work, allows you to access the wisdom you already hold inside you. She explains it as a process to “clear the mind.”You’ll ask yourself four questions and apply them to a specific problem you’re facing. Going through these steps gives you perspective and a new way of thinking about what’s causing you distress. Questioning diminishes the power your thoughts have over you. And THAT leads to true freedom. Her work contains elements of therapist, a counselor or a religious leader, though she’s technically not any one of these. She’s been described as a spiritual mentor. As the bestselling author of “Loving What Is: Four Questions That Can Change Your Life," followed by "A Mind at Home with Itself: How Asking Four Questions Can Free Your Mind, Open Your Heart, and Turn Your World Around," her inspirational guidance offers people a different way to think their thoughts so they can change their mindsets and, ultimately, their lives. Her own story of early life success that spiraled into depression, rage, addiction, and self-loathing, sets the foundation for The Work. “The thoughts like, “I’m not good enough. There's something wrong with me," which was true,” Byron explains. “It was my thinking. My thoughts were aimed out at other people. It was their fault. Then when I would say or do something, I would experience the guilt, so I had this vicious circle going of judgment, guilt, judgment, guilt. It was debilitating.”She had to save herself.  Several weeks into treatment, she woke up one morning to a state of constant joy that has never left her and four questions clearly in her mind that would lead her out of her own darkness. She’s never been able to truly explain this epiphany, nor has she evangelized it. She realized that when she believed her stressful thoughts, she suffered, but that when she questioned them, she didn't suffer, and that this is true for every human being. She simply shares The Work with people who want to make profound life changes—and has continued this path for nearly 40 years.“I have a lot of people across the globe that are saying their lives are shifting so dramatically they're unrecognizable, but I don't call it The Work for nothing,” she says. “It does take stillness. It takes silence, and it takes being courageous enough to look at the thoughts in your head without trying to change them and accept them the way they are.”WE APPRECIATE OUR PARTNERS. CHECK THEM OUT!Kickstart Autophagy: https://timelinenutrition.com/DAVE, use the code ASPREY10 to get 10% off any planMattress Temperature Tech: https://www.eightsleep.com/dave, use code dave to save $250 on the Pod ProSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
IN THIS EPISODE OF THE HUMAN UPGRADE™...... you’re going to find out how to cook differently using an innovative kitchen appliance, Brava, that’s got some cool features that will get you excited about making your meals at home—always a good idea!First—what Brava is not. The Brava countertop cooking oven isn’t a microwave, isn’t a toaster oven, and isn’t a convection oven.Instead, it’s a device that cooks with light. Six lamps deliver exact, variable, infrared light waves to your food. Brava synchronizes and controls the amount of power each lamp emits. Simultaneously, the lamps instantly reach full power and turn off just as quickly, creating three independent cooking zones inside the chamber. The top five benefits of this cooking method include: Searing (great for your grass-fed steaks), precision, versatility, speed and quality. Brava also cooks up to three different ingredients at the same time. You can air fry, dehydrate and cook your favorite white rice in it (Bulletproof Diet approved). It’s user- and kid-friendly, so your whole family can be part of a lifestyle that prioritizes food that nourishes your body and ups your energy.Brava’s vice president and professional chef, Travis Rea, led the Brava Culinary Team in developing Brava's patented Pure Light Technology (physicists and mathematicians were in on it, too). He’s on the show to explain the technology behind Brava and how cooking with light will change your entire approach to food.Travis earned a degree in Culinary Arts at the California Culinary Academy. Prior to Brava, he headed the Food Development team at Williams-Sonoma for eight years where he developed nearly 800 private label food products. His experience also includes leadership roles at Revolution Foods and NatureBox. So, he knows the many facets of creating great food.Brava takes out the guesswork of meal planning by offering over 7,000 fully automated recipe programs. This means you can enjoy cooking more because it takes less of your time.SPECIAL OFFER FOR LISTENERS OF THE HUMAN UPGRADE: https://www.brava.com, use code DAVE at checkout to get $200 OFF any Brava set through December 31, 2022. See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

If you are looking to burn calories then less time equals less calories. So if that's your goal then this wouldn't be beneficial, correct?

Hi Dave, You mentioned in this podcast that you do NOT recommend psyllium as prebiotic fiber - at the same time on other podcasts you're promoting uprisingfood.com which has psyllium as one of their main ingredients. I'm a bit confused. Could you please help me to clarify this? Should I avoid uprisingfood.com products as they have psyllium in it? Thx.

I'm just wondering: if the infrared sauna heats the person up from the inside: 1. Then Why does a "cabin" needed to be built around it, why cannot it be just a wall panel, like the JOOVV 3.0 Red Light Therapy devices? 2. And if the "cabin" is indeed needless for the infrared Sauna, then why JOOVV or SUNLIGHTEN - or any other similar company don't build a device /wall panel which offers 2 in 1: both Red Light Therapy AND infrared sauna in one single device / single session? Would this be too difficult/expensive to build? Or would there be health risks to have infrared sauna and red light therapy session together, at the same time?

what you said about the therapy is so wrong and proves you are an not really a sufferer like you say. I followed you for years...years... not now. you have no idea what me and others have been through. You were fat and picked on, but what about a full trauma childhood, leaving you really mentally crippled. I liked you but now not so sure. you think anyone that had a awful upbringing or horrible experience can do it themselves. slight insult.

really enjoyed this one. it continues to amaze me how otherwise intelligent well-informed people like the guest can remain so ignorant about this virus and the vaccine. I.e I e. overestimating the risk and uninformed about how useless and dangerous the vax has proven to be. not to mention completely uninformed about a middle or alternate path to addressing the public health issue. heaven forbid public health officials should encourage testing for vitamin d, inflammation and blood sugar regulation. or that they would advocate supplementation and holistic approaches to preparing oneself to win against the virus. heaven forbid they should advocate prophylactic treatment for those at high risk of exposure or infection. no way should this intelligent individual advocate for prophylactic use of proven effective early treatments

Great content but these two things will have me thinking twice about listening to another podcast:. Very disruptive noise of someone opening package, rummaging through contents, taping back up, crying paper, etcetera! Multi-tasking during a podcast is just rude!
