We are talking about estrogen – and why it is not the enemy for men on testosterone therapy.I was inspired to record this after hearing that the FDA removed the black box warning from estrogen therapy for women. That got me thinking about how, in the men’s world, estrogen has been turned into this evil hormone that must be crushed at all costs. For a lot of guys, the moment they get prescribed testosterone, they’re automatically handed an aromatase inhibitor with zero thought or nuance. I think that’s a huge mistake.In this conversation, I walk through why routine estrogen suppression is almost never necessary for the average man on TRT and how that “block estrogen at all costs” mindset came straight out of bodybuilding folklore and bro science. I break down the clinical data showing that low estrogen in men leads to more body fat, worse bone density, lower libido, more mood issues, and worse cardiovascular health – the exact problems TRT is supposed to fix.We get into how estradiol supports bone mineral density, fat metabolism, sexual function, brain health, and endothelial function. We’re breaking down the full peptide stack for kidney health and renal longevity. When I first got into biohacking I didn’t think much about kidneys at all. I assumed they just silently did their thing in the background. But over the years, as I started working with more people and publishing more content, I realized how common kidney dysfunction is and how quickly it can go downhill if you don’t catch it early. That’s when I went down the rabbit hole of what actually causes kidney decline and what we can do to strengthen and protect renal function long before a diagnosis ever shows up.Inside this episode I walk through the most important vulnerabilities the kidneys face as we age. These are things like oxidative stress, mitochondrial breakdown, metabolic strain, hypertension, hyperglycemia, inflammation, structural damage to the filtration barrier, and even vascular deterioration. Most people don’t realize the kidneys use up to ten percent of the body’s entire oxygen supply which makes them extremely sensitive to damage. I explain exactly how these vulnerabilities accumulate over time and why proactive support is just as important for someone who is “normal” as it is for someone with early-stage CKD.From there I walk you step-by-step through the five-peptide kidney restoration protocol I put together. I’ve been using injectable L-carnitine for years, and the longer I use it, the more it’s become one of those quiet, reliable staples I always come back to for energy, performance, and longevity support.I start by breaking down the basics: L-carnitine is a naturally occurring amino acid derivative that shuttles long-chain fatty acids into the mitochondria so they can be burned for energy. When you think L-carnitine, think mitochondria, ATP, and better fuel utilization.
