Description
For at least a decade, allegations of cheating have swirled around elections in rural Bladen County, N.C. Some people in town point fingers at a Black advocacy group, the Bladen County Improvement Association, accusing it of bullying voters, tampering with ballots and stealing votes outright. These accusations have never been substantiated, but they persist.
Reporter Zoe Chace went to Bladen County to investigate what’s really going on. From the makers of Serial and The New York Times, a five-part series about allegations of election fraud — and the powerful forces that fuel them.

This podcast ranks near the first season of Serial. Excellent peek into the rural south and how little lines are demarcated.

Gaslight Obstruct Project.
It always gets me how people can sit there and say "I've got evidence of this, but I can't tell you what it is or let you see it" and still expect you to trust them. Especially while insisting you can't trust anyone else. How special do these people think they are?
this was truly excellent reporting by Zoe Chase and Serial.
Let noone be surprised that this is how NC rural counties operate. while doing a get out the vote / registration drive in a rural county, I was followed by a police car every neighborhood I entered. one police car was at the entrance or exit every time. At dusk, my last knock was at the home of a Black resident who warned me that it wasn't safe for me after dark and for me to leave now. I did.
