what a beautifully sad episode.. the acting and music are amazing.
this was an amazing story...thnx for the ride!
will there be a season 2?
Am I the only one that is so lost in the ending?
As an American, i relate to Alice - held hostage by a raving lunatic with a gun who is raving about nonsense and completely lost in their own delusion, who is willing to kill people rather than face an uncomfortable reality.
great story. worth a listen
Heck I'm crying and traumatised
Sarah tripping at the finish line and wasting Apollo's sacrifice.
Wonderful, thrilling series. breathtakingly well-produced. I love how much it trusted the listeners to follow along rather than holding our hands every step of the way. in terms of writing and acting and production, this is quite possibly the best Audio Drama I've ever heard -- and I've been listening to (and creating!) audio drama since the big thing in Audio Drama was the Radio Adventures of Dr. Floyd, so I've been around the block. Major props especially to John Billingsley, America's Grandpop, and to whichever heroically overlooked sound engineer managed the stereo panning for this series -- you fleshed out a real world here and most listeners will never even notice because it was so smooth. it should be noted, however, that we learn in this final episode but Alice is a despicable and irredeemable character. I don't object to that creative choice at all, it was a great, smart ending... but I really hate Alice now after nine episodes of really liking her, and I just wanted to vent about that someplace! Alice, how could anyone do that to your parents? how could you do that to ROB? YOUR FRIEND? how could anyone betray so many so completely? do you think saving him somehow justifies it? because, if Rob has any sense, he will spend the rest of his life seeking revenge on the monster you knowingly choose to become. at least Blue Jay had the excuse of her self-imposed illusions. you're just evil. and, again, I love that a show made me feel this strongly about a character in the end. fantastic. five stars.
Is this woody Haralson's voice??
I think it's okay to tell a comforting lie while someone is dying, I would have done the same
2 minutes in great voice actors. The rest of you podcasters need to understand something important. voice acting is in service to the story. You can have a great story, but if the voice acting sucks ass, we won't give you our time. We'll move onto the next podcast that isn't shit.
This is giving me House of Leaves vibes...
Of course the author doesn't give what wld be considered normal in any of his/her podcasts. Don't we know already it's HIS signature forte. Like an ellusive somebody in their own mind, this person is driven to do such things. Attention? Control? Who knows, and who cares? Well I think the author might. Just to hear us squirm thru our msgs. Such a guy.
It's not bad, but the story is strange. If u go for something, may be to save the world, or some other goal, its okay. But in this story they hit the road just for the road itself. For me it's has no logic at all.
I am actually quite happy Sarah died.
So, soooo good. It's hard to find really gripping audio drama and this hit the nail on the head. Loving this podcast so far. Clyde is an incredible voice actor too. It's somewhat reminiscent of Stephen King, but softer of that makes sense. Also, is anyone else shipping Jen and Alice?
It’s so hard to stay in the moment when a common word mispronounced. “In-cred-doo-ality”? Really? Not to mention trying to buy into a journalist who says things like “Wow, you were in [the war in] Vietnam? How was that for you?”
amazing podcast in terms of story and sound effects. but i wish it had some narrating from third person so i could understand a little more some situations.
They could of written the Blue Jay character better. Very one dimensional character with no redeeming qualities.
