Dungeon Masters takes a behind-the-curtain look into the world of Dungeons & Dragons, told through the lenses of the creator of the game, Gary Gygax, played by Wil Wheaton and of private investigator, William Dear, played by Jon Hamm, a swashbuckling tough guy in 1979. Gygax guides the audience through this incredible true story as our Dungeon Master, as we follow Dear on his quest to find Dallas Egbert, a Michigan State student, who supposedly disappeared in the steam tunnels under his University while enacting a real-life version of D&D. What Dear encounters on this journey and ultimately discovers, defies all expectations, and changes the culture as we know it.
Written by award-winning journalist and author, David Kushner, based on his interviews with Gary Gygax, his research and writing about Dungeons & Dragons (RISE OF THE DUNGEON MASTER), and the missing person case which inadvertently made the game (in)famous. Produced by Jon Hamm, Temple Hill and QCODE.

This was good, but a lot of things were changed from the original, and it kind of made me disappointed. if anyone wants to hear the original, just look up CreepCast Left Right Game on YouTube.
Can anyone recommend any podcasts that involve driving like this one? I really like the sounds of the inside of a car combined with the chilling storytelling by the narrator, stories like "Alice Isn't Dead" or "Carrier"
Well written, Much left to the imagination to fill in, but that's not a bad thing. I was hoping for a different ending.

It is insane that this podcast doesn't have more favorites, it is SO good, one of the better storylines and acting that I've ever heard
How are there no comments after that??? Holy crap that got dark 😨
Omg this is so good, I'm highly impressed and cannot wait to hear the other episodes
Why there is no comment, I am sure voice actors and director and other who made this worked hard, well Done! you deserve applause.. it is impressive and a good start for the story...
Absolutely my favorite. I think of this often when I'm driving around town. Thank you for the experience!
This. Was. Unbelievable. The existentialism, the enormity of it all. My heart.
what a beautifully sad episode.. the acting and music are amazing.
this was an amazing story...thnx for the ride!
will there be a season 2?
Am I the only one that is so lost in the ending?
As an American, i relate to Alice - held hostage by a raving lunatic with a gun who is raving about nonsense and completely lost in their own delusion, who is willing to kill people rather than face an uncomfortable reality.
great story. worth a listen
Heck I'm crying and traumatised
Sarah tripping at the finish line and wasting Apollo's sacrifice.
Wonderful, thrilling series. breathtakingly well-produced. I love how much it trusted the listeners to follow along rather than holding our hands every step of the way. in terms of writing and acting and production, this is quite possibly the best Audio Drama I've ever heard -- and I've been listening to (and creating!) audio drama since the big thing in Audio Drama was the Radio Adventures of Dr. Floyd, so I've been around the block. Major props especially to John Billingsley, America's Grandpop, and to whichever heroically overlooked sound engineer managed the stereo panning for this series -- you fleshed out a real world here and most listeners will never even notice because it was so smooth. it should be noted, however, that we learn in this final episode but Alice is a despicable and irredeemable character. I don't object to that creative choice at all, it was a great, smart ending... but I really hate Alice now after nine episodes of really liking her, and I just wanted to vent a
