Your past simply exists in your head as the memories and stories you have about things that no longer exist. The stories that you tell around your financial past make up your money story, and most people have a money story that they use against their own good. When you have a disempowering story about your money past, you will waste time wishing it was different that it was and you will also continue to pull those same results into the future (creating more of what you don't want). When you do this, you're using your past as a weapon against yourself rather than a helpful tool to create the financial life that you want moving forward. In this week's episode of The Money Love Podcast we are exploring the concept of your money story and what it means. Paige breaks down what your money story is, where it comes from, why most peolpe have a disempowering money story, and how to purposefully rewrite your money story into one that will propel you towards the financial reality you know you're destined to create. What would life look like if we could spend more of our time creating? Creating more love, connection, knowledge, health, energy, and money for ourselves. How much more would you be able to accomplish in a lifetime with more of an intentional focus on creating value for yourself, others and the world? In this week's episode of The Money Love Podcast we are exploring the consumption vs. creation relationship and spectrum. Paige is walking you through what consumption and creation each look like, why we are primed to overconsume, why overconsumption is a problem, and her 5 step process to create more in your life. There's no other purchase category that can make you lose your mind faster than one-of-a-kind buys. These are unique and sometimes one of a kind items that we find at thrift stores, second hand, or at stores like Homegoods. While it can be thrilling to find these items, we often spend more in this area than we have planned simply because we "lose our minds" in these situations. Many of you have asked "How can I approach these situations with more control and discipline?" and that's exactly the qustion I'm providing answers to in this week's episode.  In this episode of the podcast, Paige is walking you through her four step process on how to not lose your mind with one-of-a-kind buys. She explains what actually happens in your brain with purchases like this, the easiest thing you can do in the moment to ease the scarcity, how to work through worst case scenarios and how to be better eqiupped in situations like this so you're not overspending, going into debt, or sabotaging your finances. Credit cards are a tool that you get to decide if you're going to use on your financial journey. Whether or not you will use them will depend on what you're trying build, and how confident you feel in your ability to ues them well. If you do decide to use credit cards moving forward, it's important that you're using them in a way that will help you, rather than hurt you. When used correctly, credit cards can provide incredible perks while also helping you build credit. When used incorrectly, they can cause disasterous consequences with your money and credit score. Whether you're using credit cards correctly or incorrectly can usually be boiled down to ten common mistakes that I see credit card users making. On this week's episode of The Money Love Podcast I will be walking you through each of these 10 mistakes. By the end of the episode you will be able to pinpoint if you're making any of these credit card mistakes and be armed with adjustments you can make to ensure you're no longer making them. Do you dread your debt? Most people who are in debt feel immense dread when they think about the process of paying it off. It's important to remember that the dread you feel around your debt is created from your thinking, but sometimes it's easier to solve for the dread by getting out of debt completely than by doing the challening work of changing your thoughts and beliefs around your debt. This is where a debt sprint comes in, which is a sustainable sprint (in your own version) towards the debt free finish line so you can become unburdened from your debt. In this week's episode of The Money Love Podcast Paige is sharing her concept of the debt sprint and diving into the emotion of dread. She's sharing why we feel so much dread around our debt, her three solutions for solving for it, how to do a debt sprint in a sustainable way, and how to make it to the debt payoff finish line without completely burning yourself out. Divorce is one of the most (if not the most) stressful life events that someone can experience in their lifetime. In addition to it being an incredibly daunting process, it's also a confusing and frustrating journey that can be difficult to navigate with confidence. Becuase of this, too many women go through the divorce process not knowing what to expect, what questions to ask, and how to advocate for themselves and as a bi-product end up accepting a financial settlement that is far less than what they deserve. That is where this week's guest, Tracy Coenen, founder of Divorce Money Guide comes in.   This week on the podcast Paige is joined by Tracy in a value-packed discussion all about money and divorce. In this conversation Tracy is sharing the most important financial steps to take before initiating your divorce, the steps you need to be prepared to take to naivgate your divorce with confidence, how to choose the right divorce attorney, questions that you should be asking throughout the divorce process to ensure a fair settlement, and how to gain the confidence to fight for what you're rightfully owed. Have you ever wondered if you're burnt out? If you find yourself losing patience easily, struggling to sleep, losing drive and motivation towards goals and feel like you're generally going through the motions of life... burnout might be on the horizon (or have already arrived). It's no secret that many of us have reached points of burnout, but this is especially true for those of us raised with a "work hard, never rest" mentality that programs us to believe that rest is lazy and our stress and booked out calendars are badges of honor. But how do we move past this burnout and reach a state of balance?  In this week's episode of The Money Love Podcast Paige is talking with Peter Guse, the founder of The Millennial Reset, an online community that gives Millennials the tools to heal from burnout, break free of generational cycles, and get unstuck. In this value-packed episode we are talking about what burnout is, what causes it, the signs that you're approaching burnout (or already there), and Peter's 4 R framework to move from burnt out to balanced. Your identity, which is made up of the thoughts and beliefs you have about yourself, wiill always be working for you, or against you. One of the fastest ways to create new and exciting results in your life is to form a new and empowering identity that will get you to where you want to be. However, sometimes it can be challenging to form new identities that are too far away from the current identities that you hold about yourself. When this is the case, using tools that create pyschological distance between your current self and future self can be helpful. This is where your alter ego and your villian come in.  In this week's episode of The Money Love Podcast Paige is sharing two of her favorite tools to shed your limiting beliefs, doubts, and insecurities. These two tools are your alter ego and your villian. Paige explains what each of these tools are, they they work so well, the benefits of having them, and the steps to putting these tools to work in your life. Whether you want to implement these tools with your money or elsewhere. they are two tools that will undoubtedbly leave you feeling more confident and empowered.  Enjoy!    Work with Paige: Join the Overcoming Overspending Membership HERE Use code MLP30 at checkout to save $30 off your first month inside the membership   FREE RESOURCES: FREE MASTERCLASS: Why You Impulse Shop & How To Stop Get Paige’s Money Recommendations     Where you can find Paige online: Website: https://www.paigepritchard.com  IG: @overcoming_overspending TikTok: @overcoming_overspending Subscribe to Paige's YouTube Channel
It's vitually impossible nowadays to buy something online with being offered to split up your payment over multiple installments over a 2-3 month period. These companies like Afterpay, Affirm, and Klarna seem to be taking the online shopping world by storm and offer an enticing no fee and no interest option to get what you want the moment you want it without having to wait. But even though these services can be enticing to many and useful in some situations, that doesn't mean they come with their fair share of pitfalls and dangers. In this week's episode of The Money Love Podcast we're diving deep into the topic of buy-now-pay-later services. I'm sharing scenarios where I think it makes sense to use them, when you shouldn't use them, factors to consider that may make you rethink using them moving forward, and three questions to ask yourself the next time you're tempted to split a purchase over time. Your brain (and mine) is lazy. Very lazy. Your brain was designed to seek pleasure, avoid challenges, and expend the least amount of energy possible. Becuase of that, doing hard and challenging things like getting out of debt, finding a new and higher paying job, hitting a million dollar net worth are... hard. But just becuase something is hard and challenge doesn't mean you shouldn't do it. In fact, I believe that harder that something is, the more you should pursue it. For most things, the harder something is the more meaningful it is becuase the more it changes and evolves you into a better version of yourself. In this episode of The Money Love Podcast we're breaking down how to do hard and challenging things. Paige walks you through her best 5 tips that you can deploy so that you'll seek out and pursue challenging things. Are you someone who welcomes hard things into your life or are you someone who avoids challenges in your life (and as a result ends up making things harder on yourself)? When we choose to do hard and challenging things we become stronger, we show ourselves what we're capable of, and we make our contribution to the world. Unfortunately, with everything in our world getting faster, easier, and friction-free many of us have become entitled to comfort and avoidant of discomfort. But in order to live an extrordinary life of immense contribution, we have to actively choose to do and go through hard things.  In this week's episode of The Money Love Podcast we're talking about hard things and why you should intentionally seek them out. Paige walks through the topic of comfort entitlement, explains why we are so adverse to challenge, and gives you her best three arguements of why hard things and challenges are something that you should actually run towards, rather than running away from. You don't REALLY want more stuff. In fact, our desire for most things that we buy goes much deeper than just wanting that cute new sweater for our next date night or the organizational bins to have your produce neatly displayed in your fridge. The one thing I wouldn't agree with is, the CEO is the most important in the company. Otherwise, great episode!
