Welcome back to The Viall Files, Going Deeper edition! Today we are joined by dancer, model, and host, Cheryl Burke! On this episode we dive into chatting with Cheryl and ask her about her recovery from both her divorce and addiction, how she better learned to build her life in sobriety, and learning to love yourself after a life of hardship. We also transition to talking about Dancing with The Stars moving to Disney+ and managing jealousy when you’re dating someone in the entertainment industry. We then dive into some pop culture topics, getting an update on the Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis divorce, the couple photo green line test, how you could’ve predicted the breakup between Pete and Kim, and the impact of body language. We then welcome on our Texting Office Hours Callers. Our first caller talks about a guy she’s been talking to on Hinge which was going well until she had to put it on pause because she got back together with her ex. After breaking up with her ex, she runs into this Hinge guy at a gym and afterwards he added her on Facebook. Now she wonders if she should shoot her shot, even with having so many signs that he’s into her. Our next caller has been talking to a guy for over two years, but has never met him in real life. But after temporarily moving to the Netherlands to be closer to him and getting mixed messages, she asks if she should just focus on her independence in Europe versus worrying just about this guy.  “When I’m not working, I’m working on myself.” Please make sure to subscribe so you don’t miss an episode and as always send in your relationship questions to asknick@kastmedia.com to be a part of our Monday episodes.  If you would like to get some advice on Office Hours send an email to asknick@kastmedia.com with “Office Hours” in the subject line!  Be sure to check out my sports radio show Fandemonium, Wednesdays @ 3PT / 6 ET  on Amazon's Amp app.  Click the link to download Amp using my code NICKVIALL https://apps.apple.com/us/app/amp-host-live-radio-shows/id1586403838 Pre-Order Nick’s Book: https://www.abramsbooks.com/product/dont-text-your-ex-happy-birthday_9781419755491/ Check out our new "Introvert" merch at http://www.viallfiles.com today! Welcome back to The Viall Files: Bachelorette Recap Edition! Today we are back with another episode, joined this time by two wonderful guests! We bring on digital creator, Achieng Agutu, and actress and model, Hayley Hasselhoff, to break down the latest episode of the Bachelorette where all the drama unfolds leading up to hometowns. But first, we spill the tea on the latest from Bachelor Nation, reacting to Kelley Flanagan and Peter Weber being sighted hanging out on multiple occasions since their breakup that led to a lot of harsh words in interviews, Madi Prewett’s recent sponsored live video where she breaks down the engagement and promise pact, and Kaitlyn Bristowe’s recent comments about wishing she was host on this season with two Bachelorettes. We then dive into the episode where we talk about Nate’s emotional goodbye, the real reason Gabby sent him home, and how Nate is probably setup to be the next Bachelor. We also dive into Zach dropping the L-Bomb, how Zach is getting Rachel ready to date Tino, Rachel’s wacky cheese strongman competition, and Gabby’s erotic group date where Spencer left uncomfortable and Johnny left dripping with hot wax. We also breakdown Tino’s emotional breakdown, Logan’s unceremonious exit from the season, and debating if the producers accidentally showed their hand. “Their whole relationship is built off of his obsession.” Please make sure to subscribe so you don’t miss an episode and as always send in your relationship questions to asknick@kastmedia.com to be a part of our Monday episodes.  Pre-Order Nick’s Book: https://www.abramsbooks.com/product/dont-text-your-ex-happy-birthday_9781419755491/ Check out our new "Introvert" merch at http://www.viallfiles.com today! We are back with another episode of Viall Files: Ask Nick Edition! We’re here again to bring on our callers and give them advice to answer their questions and navigate their relationships. On this episode we bring on our first caller who wonders how to come clean to a guy she’s seeing about criminal charges she is facing. With the crimes committed when she was an addict, her now being clean, and the guy she’s seeing also in recovery,  she wonders if they can build a connection by being honest about the skeletons in their closets. Our next caller is dealing with a situation in which her ex-boyfriend wants to stop by her place to pick up some things he left behind. Wondering how to shut down her ex’s power play, she wonders if enlisting the help of a guy friend can help this ex from trying anything. Our last caller wonders how to introduce her boyfriend to her family when she’s previously set strict barriers with her parents because of their behavior. Now she wonders how to make the introduction natural and if sometimes things are only a big deal if you make them a big deal. “Give people the opportunity to fail.” Please make sure to subscribe so you don’t miss an episode and as always send in your relationship questions to asknick@kastmedia.com to be a part of our Monday episodes.  Pre-Order Nick’s Book: https://www.abramsbooks.com/product/dont-text-your-ex-happy-birthday_9781419755491/ Check out our new "Introvert" merch at http://www.viallfiles.com today! On this episode we dive deep with Wells and talk to him about being engaged for years because Covid caused wedding delays, the biggest joys and stresses in planning a wedding, the scoop on the upcoming season of Bachelor in Paradise, and Wells’ new cooking show on Hulu about pizza. We then spill the tea on some pop culture topics and break down the Pete and Kim breakup, Kanye’s controversial meme, and who we think Pete should date next. We also talk about Frank Ocean selling a c*ckring for $25,000, if body count matters, and Jennifer Coolidge getting a lot of action after her role in American Pie. We then welcome on our Texting Office Callers to help give them advice with formulating a message. Our first caller worries about a guy that seems to have ghosted her, wondering if a potentially awkward situation while hooking up may have led  him to lose interest. Now she wonders if him being judgmental may be a red flag. Our next caller wonders if she should try to repair the relationship with her boyfriend’s brother after the brother sends our caller an apology two years after a fight. Seemingly like he’s done work to improve himself, she wonders if it’s worth having the conversations to restore the relationship and how she can get more support from her boyfriend in this situation.  “He gives hope to a lot of skinny funny guys!”  Please make sure to subscribe so you don’t miss an episode and as always send in your relationship questions to asknick@kastmedia.com to be a part of our Monday episodes. Today we are back with another episode, joined by actor, writer, host, and Bachelor superfan, Dave Holmes! On this episode we kick things off by digging into some tea from Bachelor Nation. We react to Michelle Young saying she’s happier since the breakup in her last Instagram post, the Madison Prewett proposal where she was told it would happen 30 minutes before, a recent interview where in reaction to the new Bachelorette format Gabby said that she wouldn’t let anyone pit her against Rachel, and updates on Aaron Rodgers and his family. We then get into reacting to the episode itself, picking up from last week’s cliffhanger of Logan, how Logan has proved he’s on the show for the right reasons, and how Nate seems like the right choice for the next Bachelor. We also talk about how Rachel has had a rough episode with canceling the group date, how she’s making the same mistakes that Clayton made, and how the two Bachelorettes handle rejection and disappointment differently. We also talk about the guys that are setting themselves up for heartbreak, who is the most divisive contestant, and how they’re going to handle hometowns.  “She’s making the same mistakes Clayton did.” Please make sure to subscribe so you don’t miss an episode and as always send in your relationship questions to asknick@kastmedia.com to be a part of our Monday episodes.  Pre-Order Nick’s Book: https://www.abramsbooks.com/product/dont-text-your-ex-happy-birthday_9781419755491/ Check out our new "Introvert" merch at http://www.viallfiles.com today! Welcome back to The Viall Files, Going Deeper edition! Today we are joined by Actress and  Musician Hayley Orrantia. You’ll recognize her from The Goldbergs! On this episode we dive deep with our guest talking about what it’s like to be on one show for almost a decade, how the LA karaoke scene is like nothing else, and how relationships that ended poorly aren’t a waste of time. We then talk about how Hayley and her fiancé bonded over dating sociopaths, how forcing yourself to deal with heartbreak is better than ignoring it, and continuing to learn about the person you’re dating even after the honeymoon phase ends. We also cover the Emily Ratajkowski cheating scandal and dive in to present the narrative of why people cheat and why the person cheated on should never feel at fault. We also talk about the Rejection Challenge, why exposing yourself to “no” can make you a more dynamic person, and the controversy with Drake airdropping a picture he took of a woman to her. We then welcome on two Texting Office Hours callers! Our first caller wonders what to do after being ghosted after an amazing first date. Our next caller wants help in drafting a text to respond to a guy she feels treated her poorly by constantly not making her a priority. On this episode we welcome on Jeff to dive into his experience on the show, get the tea on who he left the show with, and how the producers dug up people from his past. We also talk about if it’s worth it to explore missed connections, the contestants Jeff loved and hated the most on the show, and doing body shots for a dollar at brunch. Our next caller wonders what to do when someone she’s been hooking up with begins to ask very strange personal questions regarding her and the future. Welcome back to The Viall Files: Bachelorette Recap Edition! Today we are back with another episode, joined by Blake Moynes of Bachelor Nation! In this episode we start things off by diving into some hot questions and check-in on Blake to see how he is dealing with his breakup of Katie, how long it took him to recover, and what he’s focused on now. We ask if there was emotional cheating in his relationship and then ask him about his time on the Bachelor and his interactions with Greg on Season 17 of The Bachelorette. We ask how valid it was that Katie said she knew that Greg was not the one and we solve the mystery behind Blake’s censored painting. We then respond to our episode last week and talk about our approach to responding to drama and how our response to Katie differs from the situation where Blake Horstmann leaked texts. After some Bachelor Nation Tea, we dive into recapping the latest episode of The Bachelorette. On the latest episode, we find that there were a lot of upset eliminations, with Jordan the drag racer being sent home despite going on a one on one date, and how the first impression rose doesn’t necessarily mean that you’re safe. With two Bachelorettes, are the dynamics different and are previous signs of going far in the season now signs you’ll be sent home next? We also talk about if the guys should be focusing on one bachelorette or should they get to know a bit about both, if nicknames are a sign you’re not being taken seriously, and if there will be jealousy between both of the Bachelorettes.  “Man earned that f*ckboy edit!” Please make sure to subscribe so you don’t miss an episode and as always send in your relationship questions to asknick@kastmedia.com to be a part of our Monday episodes. We welcome on our callers to give them advice about their relationships and situationships! Our first caller deals with dating after moving to a new state, finding it hard to connect and progress the dates she’s been going on. After finding a guy she has genuine interest in, she wonders if she should put herself out there and shoot her shot, while also learning to take things slow as she recently moved and has a lot of settling in to do. Our next caller struggles when a guy she can’t get over really might not be as great as she makes him out to be. Now she must learn to hold more respect for herself as the good traits this guy holds are traits she could find with anyone. Our last caller deals with conflict when her current boyfriend wants to have a massive wedding, while she is more than happy to go to the courthouse. With this conflict in mind, we ask our caller if the reasons for her preferences might be from a deeper cause.  “We all have to shift through dirt to find gold” Please make sure to subscribe so you don’t miss an episode and as always send in your relationship questions to asknick@kastmedia.com to be a part of our Monday episodes.  Pre-Order Nick’s Book: https://www.abramsbooks.com/product/dont-text-your-ex-happy-birthday_9781419755491/ Check out our new "Introvert" merch at http://www.viallfiles.com today! Welcome back to The Viall Files, Going Deeper edition! Today we are joined again by Natalie Joy as Nick and Natalie call in from London! On this episode we test out our British accents and give a major update to the Lake House Situation where Nick talks about what he thinks will happen next. We also dive into some pop culture topics such as navigating hot girl summer with non-traditional relationships, Florence Pugh’s Free the Nipple dress, and how the reactions to this dress say a lot about society. We then welcome on our Texting Office Hours caller who has trouble navigating a situation where a guy she’s been dating has been mysterious and unresponsive. Is his job on a golf course really that time consuming? Or is there something deeper going on? We also react to an email from a fan asking for advice when she thinks that a guy broke up with her over her loud chewing.  “It’s a different kind of sting.” Please make sure to subscribe so you don’t miss an episode and as always send in your relationship questions to asknick@kastmedia.com to be a part of our Monday episodes.  If you would like to get some advice on Office Hours send an email to asknick@kastmedia.com with “Office Hours” in the subject line!  Pre-Order Nick’s Book: https://www.abramsbooks.com/product/dont-text-your-ex-happy-birthday_9781419755491/ Check out our new "Introvert" merch at http://www.viallfiles.com today! Welcome back to The Viall Files: Bachelorette Recap Edition! Today we are back as the Bachelorette season begins tonight! Nick and Natalie call in from their hotel in London because giving you the latest on Bachelor Nation drama and reacting to the premiere episode of The Bachelorette exists above all else. We bring on our guest, coming to you from the studio, YouTuber and actress, Lisa Schwartz. We kick things off discussing Katie going live and saying, “What tea do you want spilled?” Natalie reacts to getting sent a clip from a fan of Katie expressing that she blocked Nick on her phone. We talk about the last text Nick sent Katie, react to how Katie uses social media, and express how we’ve done nothing but try to give her a platform to help. We then get to the premiere episode of the Bachelorette with last season favorites, Gabby & Rachel. We talk about the validity of their claims of being best friends, how they’ll navigate 32 men, and where the biggest sources of drama will come from. We talk about how the new format of the show feels super refreshing, how the girls should navigate calling dibs, how a drag racer is stealing hearts, and how the twins are already packing their bags to go back home together. We also talk about the worst first impressions, how the First Impression Roses seem different this season, if there will really be enough time to get to know the guys, and our predictions for the final four.  “I was fine until she said Nick’s name!” Please make sure to subscribe so you don’t miss an episode and as always send in your relationship questions to asknick@kastmedia.com to be a part of our Monday episodes. Welcome listeners, and join us as we take your questions about the dating world and relationships. Our first caller feels like she has commitment issues until she starts having feelings for a guy she had a week long romance with. She asks if her insecurities are normal and how she should handle dating situations like this in the future. Our next caller has been happily with her boyfriend for eight years, but starts raising questions when she begins to realize that he may be a spoiled man child. With continual reminders that he does the bare minimum, our caller wonders if she should move away closer to her mom and reconnect with her. The last caller questions if she should be honest with her finance about how she feels staying at his grandparents' truly gross and disgusting house. She loves him and respects that they are his family but she just can’t take how awful it is. Now she wonders how to save herself from disgust without breaking his heart. “You had a week love affair.”  Please make sure to subscribe so you don’t miss an episode and as always send in your relationship questions to asknick@kastmedia.com to be a part of our Monday episodes.  Pre-Order Nick’s Book: https://www.abramsbooks.com/product/dont-text-your-ex-happy-birthday_9781419755491/ Check out our new "Introvert" merch at http://www.viallfiles.com today! Welcome back to The Viall Files, Going Deeper edition! Today we are switching up our typical Going Deeper format to welcome some Mediation Callers! We bring on friends and couples to help them hash out their disagreements and see what we can do to help them find some common ground. Our first callers are looking for advice on how to deal with the boyfriend going out and drinking while the girlfriend stays home and worries. He finds going out to be the perfect outlet and doesn’t mean to worry his partner, but he finds himself struggling to stay disciplined with communication and promises. Our next callers wrote in about one of them wanting a dog and the other not yet being sure. As they just moved in together, literally 24 hours ago, they wonder if their lives are too busy to get a dog. And with them potentially moving to another state in the future, are there too many roadblocks to commit to a pup? Should they just get a dog and figure it out or wait a beat and make sure they are truly ready? Our last callers were best friends but had a falling out a few years ago. They get back together in the same room for the first time to try to figure out how to mend this relationship right on The Viall Files. They ask how to best get past their issues and move on from the things that occurred and put strain on the friendship. Can they restore their relationship back to what it was before? Or because of the falling out, can they never be as close again.  “It’s okay to have a different kind of friendship.”  Please make sure to subscribe so you don’t miss an episode and as always send in your relationship questions to asknick@kastmedia.com to be a part of our Monday episodes. Welcome back to The Viall Files: Bachelor Gossip Edition! Today on our freestyle episode, we are joined again by Eilise Guilfoyle to cover the rest of juicy Bachelorette Men Bios in anticipation of the next season of The Bachelorette starting next week! Diving into the bios, we talk about how the language the men use shows a lot about their expectations, we debate if the men are the ones writing the bios themselves or just answering questions, and the weirdest fun facts from the guys. We also take a look at the troublesome party-loving twins coming on this season, who already has the description of villain written all over them, and how a guy asking for a low maintenance girl can be the biggest red flag of them all. Be sure to tune in next week on July 11th, where we go back to our usual recaps as we dive into the next exciting season of The Bachelorette with Gabby and Rachel!  “He looks like he watched 50 Shades of Gray and took notes.” Please make sure to subscribe so you don’t miss an episode and as always send in your relationship questions to asknick@kastmedia.com to be a part of our Monday episodes.  Pre-Order Nick’s Book: https://www.abramsbooks.com/product/dont-text-your-ex-happy-birthday_9781419755491/ Check out our new "Introvert" merch at http://www.viallfiles.com today! This is great if you like listening to an Airhead try to talk about love. But in all seriousness... If I had a choice between getting Covid and having to listen to this podcast everyday, I'd pick Covid everytime.

This is the most annoying episode of Ask Nick I’ve ever heard. All of the callers were so dumb and dishonest with themselves. None of these are problems, just stop being dumb and in denial about what you want and are doing. Jeeeeezus.

When Nick said " being alone and not lonely " , we all need to learn that in our 20's, still working on that.

NICK! Thank you for this! This is the content the world needed this week. I haven’t gotten to the Dr.’s official analysis yet but I just really appreciate this idea. I’ve been very preoccupied with the Katie/Greg breakup and the great divide among Bach Nation over what we saw. As someone who was in an emotionally abusive relationship for almost 5 years where I was gaslighted (actual definition, not pop definition) frequently, I was surprisingly Team Greg in this exchange and untriggered. I felt incredible empathy for him in the moment. After listening to my other favorite Pods: Shandy and Chatty Broads, I started to doubt my instincts and was wondering how I could have missed an abuser in plain sight. Contrast this with the Love Is Blind After the Alter special which hit Netflix the same week and featured Damian gaslighting the LIVING SHIT out of Gigi, which I did feel very triggered by. Anyway, I felt the need for some true guidance and insight here by a professional. As someone who has been truly gaslit and abused I am sensitive to the words being thrown around and diluted. I can see why Katie feels the way she did, but I’m not sure it fits the bill entirely. (I agreed w your stance on your anal ep. Very grey. I will now continue to listen.

Nick, I am positively bursting with pride for you right now. You handled all of these calls so beautifully. It’s clear how much you’ve learned from therapy, how confident you are in your new relationship, and your advice has never been better! I wonder if they give out professional certificates for podcast therapy, because you are ready for yours let me tell you. In other news I dream the other night that you became the bachelor again and I went on your season and you sent me home first out of everybody and you and Chris Harrison both said that I was crazy. I’m not holding it against you.

Sometimes I am so impressed with how insightful his advice to people is, but other times so disappointed with how condescending he can be toward people he is interviewing/chatting with, especially when it is someone significantly younger than him. It has made me cringe a few times. Also, I just have to say, it is so rude when Chrissy continuously giggles in the background of an interview.

This was so hard to listen to. Nick was aggressive, dismissive and hypocritical. I've been a Nick fan for awhile and it was just cringe and after cringe after cringe. He pushed on the Demi issue even AFTER RS said he wouldn't have released the info had he know Demi hadn't come out to her family. He said people sign up for the show so the show can edit/manipulate story lines any way they want because they signed up for it, then later in the episode bashed RS for releasing info saying that just because the contestants signed up for it, doesn't justify RS releasing info, or judging someone based on the story line the show portrays, I mean WHAT??? Whatever fits your narrative right Nick?
