Description
Lee Russell, Leah Hardy, Daniel Harper, and Paul Remaley discuss films they love, hate, or perhaps are on the fence about, usually while drinking. While not adverse to exploring all genres of film, the podcast focuses on horror, sci-fi, cult, exploitation, and the obscure. Spoilers and adult language can be expected.

Lee is joined by Greg, Nick, and Paul to cap-off the look at the "Friday the 13th" series, by talking about "Freddy vs. Jason" (2003) & "Friday the 13th" (2009). This one gets a bit more opinionated than the previous discussions, but it ends up being a fun (and rowdy) conversation. The hosts also talk about what they've watched recently.

Lee and Paul are back to talk about two slasher films in this episode which carry a lot of similarities the hosts hadn't originally realized. This time out they cover "The Demon" (1979), directed by Percival Rubens & "Girls Nite Out" (1982), directed by Robert Deubel. Much talk of the failings of these films, the unexpected joys, and the performances of the slumming name actors, Cameron Mitchell and Hal Holbrook respectively. Lee is joined again this week by friends Greg and Nick to finish up their look at the main entries in the "Friday the 13th" series, covering parts 6 to 10. Lee is joined by returning guests and good friends Greg and Nick to cover the first 5 films in the "Friday the 13th" franchise. General things they liked and didn't like, best kills, and the overall direction of the series up to that point are talked about. And, because they are all red-blooded Canadian men, they drool a bit over the lovely ladies of the series. It ends up making for a fun and breezy 2hr conversation. Don't fuck, don't do drugs, and stay the fuck away from camp, and instead just listen to us talk about one of the ultimate examples of cinematic junk food.

Lee is excited to welcome first time guest host Richard Glenn Schmidt, of Hello! This is the Doomed Show, joining him to cover Ferdinando Baldi's early Eurocrime "The Godfather"/"Bullitt"/"The French Connection" cash-in "The Sicilian Connection" (1972), starring Ben Gazzara. Does this set a benchmark for Eurocrime going forward in the decade or did the genre leave this behind? Is this just a Mondo Cane documentary about how to run the opium trade from a Turkish poppy field to the streets of New York? All of this, and more, including the hosts geeking out over Euro genre film in general and talking about what they've watched as of late. Also, because it is his first time on the show, Richard gets to play the Beyond Belief: Movie Fact or Fiction game, with Jonathan Frakes! Mafia Dons, lock up your wives and daughters, TMBDOS! has enough cream to go around for them in this episode!

Lee and Daniel are joined by their friend Jack to pick up a thread first started almost 10 years ago, way back in episode 79, where they talked about the 1922 and 1979 Nosferatu films, by covering Robert Eggers "Nosferatu" (2024). Tune in to see if they feel it lives up to the previous two versions. It's certainly the horniest out of all of them. Lee, Daniel, and the returning Lady Leah cover a classic of the silent era, once thought lost, Carl Theodor Dreyer's "The Passion of Joan of Arc" (1928), featuring one of, if not the greatest, performance ever captured on film, from Maria Falconetti, starring as the titular Joan of Arc. The history of the film and its various versions are briefly touched upon, and the hosts dig into the various lenses the film can be viewed through, as well as spending time talking about Dreyer's rule-breaking filming techniques he employed to make the film. Will Lee manage to struggle through reading all the French names in the cast? All this, and the cast also talks about what they've watched recently. We are putting you, the listener, on trial! Confess! You will listen to this episode! Repent!

Lee and Daniel are joined by friend and previous guest host Matt Anderson to tackle two films from the 1950s with some surprising similarities. First up they try not to catch the plague as they talk about Elia Kazan's "Panic in the Streets" (1950), starring Richard Widmark and a debuting Jack Palance. Then they try to keep the Earth from being blown apart in Fred F. Sears' "The Night the World Exploded" (1957), starring the lovely Kathryn Grant. It's a super-sized episode this week, but if you have three hours to kill, this might be the podcast injection you need!

Lee is back with the second of his three-part look at slasher films from North America produced in the 1990s. As the genre went on to the middle of the decade it still seemed directionless, throwing whatever at the wall and seeing what sticks, and often just trying to do what worked in the 1980s... until a little film called "Scream" appeared on the scene.

In this episode Lee and Daniel tackle two films that have nothing to do with each other, but Daniel wanted to talk about them. First off it's a fairly breezy conversation about the Finnish "kill all the Nazis" WW2 action film "Sisu" (2022), directed by Jalmari Helander. Then they cover the film Apple decided to buy and then abuse like its red-headed stepchild, "Wolfs" (2024), directed by Jon Watts. What Lee has watched as of late is also talked about.

Lee and Daniel are back in this episode to talk about not only 2005's low budget, gore-heavy horror comedy "Feast", directed by John Gulager. No, they also cover the Ben Affleck & Matt Damon-produced reality tv series "Project Greenlight", specifically season 3, which was all about the making of the film. The conversation revolves around how the film plays knowing what you get to know from what went on behind the scenes on the tv show. Is the film good? Does its edge lord sense of humour hold up today? Is "Project Greenlight" actually more compelling and entertaining than the film? Does the episode talk about monster vomit AND monster cum?
