This week on Trapping Radio we are Talking about coyote trapping as per coyote trap placement. This may seem simple and is it if you coyote trap and not be a set coyote trapper. Trust me, this will be clear as mud in a few moments. I will admit that I think about coyote sets and coyote trapping a little bit different, but since this is a Trapping Radio is a Clintatorship, it will be this way.We will also get into subjects for new trapper and young new trappers. It is important if a new trapper wants to become a better trapper. Then we will get into…..How to treat a dog proof trap. From the box till the middle season all the way to the next season. I will be talking about how I treat my Freedom Brand Dog Proof traps, but the info will also work for any dog proof traps. We have a new sponsor on Trapping Radio it is Jeff Dunlap from Dunlap Lures. He is a hard-core trapper, great lure and bait maker and one of the good guys.
This week on Trapping Across America we have a neat interview with a coyote trapper from New York. I had the pleasure to interview Mark Zagger at the New York State Convention. Most of you have heard of Mark, He has written on a concept call the…..Pipe Dream while coyote trapping. We are going to look at this and how he runs his trap line. Plus his mind-set of attack is inspiring as he talks about how to catch a lot of coyotes in a few weeks. If you are a coyote trapper in the east, you might want to listen to this one more than once.
In this week's episode, Sarah Gomez interviews Bryan Nelson. A long-line trapper, nuisance control trapper, and familiar face of the NTA conventions. Enjoy! For more information about the school mentioned, contact Bryan at advantagewildlifesolutions@yahoo.com Phone # 540-435-4849
This week on Trapping Across is a second part for you guys that want to have the best land to trap coyotes, bobcats, raccoon, beaver and fox on. This is a permaculture, food forest concept that I think with the right trappers they can make a very, very nice living, true it is not all trapping, but if you open your vision a little you will see the advantages. You want to trap behind locked gates on the best properties in the country, you have to give the owner a reason for you to be there. It is up to you, this permaculture concept may not be your thing, but you will see how a creative guy or gal with a creative idea can build a reason for a high end land owner to want….no need……. you on his property.
This week on Trapping Radio we have Claudie Taylor from NC. He is the otter man for sure. How is he the otter man because he knows otter. To trap more otter the key is always to know the otter inside and out. When you listen to tonight’s show, you will know more about otter than a biologist. I’m not talking about book information, but real world otter trapping info. Claudie has had pet otters and caught them and sold them to other states. What he has learned is priceless.
In this week's episode Tommy Bryant interviews Sarah Gomez of SheTraps. A short dive into how Sarah got started trapping, her earliest memories of trapping and how she grew her trapline over the years. Later, began SheTraps bait and lure company and has been a role model and inspiration to other women in trapping.
This Week on Trapping Across America we are with Chip from the great state of Mississippi. He is the big pan guy. He builds big pans for several traps. His company is Expand-A-Pan. Go Big or Go Home. We start off the show getting to know Chip and his big pans he has on the marketing through Okie Cable And Trap. This is a two-part show. As most of you know, I have trapped for deer and turkey guys all over the country. Predator Control is my business. We are going to go over a business model that some of you will not like, some will find it interesting and a few will make some grown up money with this model based in Permaculture. It is a way that anyone that wants to learn a better way for land owners to design food plots. This way a trapper can have a summer business that will land them some great trapping grounds. Even if you don’t follow my advice, you will hear how to work through a business idea.
Guys I’m in NC at the state convention. I thought I could up load both audio players, photo’s, text and sponsor info with motel internet. This is not going to happen. I will be around better service in a couple of days. Think goodness for 4G and a smart phone. I will have this show in normal format in a few days.
his week on Trapping Radio we have an outstanding interview with Allen Huot from Wildlife Control Supplies. He is one of the good guys in the ADC world. I really like his business because it is based on high standards and great products. We talk about the Animal Damage Control industry in detail. Some great business advice is given away in this trapping podcast. Enjoy! Allen is also a sponsor here on Trapping Radio, I think it is always a good idea to get to know the guys you do business with.
In this weeks episode, Tommy Bryant and Sarah Gomez interview Neil Olson. A long-time trapper and fur buyer from Maine. Enjoy!
This week on Trapping Across America we have a fun and interesting show with Andy Weiser from Weiser Western Lures. He started out in Ohio and ended up out west trapping coyotes. I love this story for one major reason, Andy wanted to be a western coyotes trapper and he just went for it. Now that takes a steel pair! One thing I liked about how Andy traps is non-complicated and down to earth. He really seems to know predators and coyote locations.
Interview with Dustin Drews, government trapper.
This Week on Trapping Across America I am talking about full-time trapping. Is it for you? That is up to you to decide. I was going to do a demo on this subject at Little Valley, but was not able to make it. I wish I could have and I was looking forward to it. The reason I could not make it to Little Valley is because I broke a few of my ribs unloading my van from NTA. Trapping full-time is a dream for a lot of trappers. It can be a great life for the right folks and a nightmare for some. It is best to go into full-time trapping with your eyes open, not closed as you dream about it.
In this week's episode, we have a long time friend of the show, Chip Davis joins Jeff Dunlap this week to discuss the NTA convention in Harrisonburg, VA. Chip interviews Rusty Kramer, incoming president for the NTA.
This week on Trapping Radio we have a great interview with Gerald Schmitt from Schmitt Enterprises. How to trap and catch mink, raccoons and muskrats, no that is not right, how to trap and catch a ton of mink, raccoons and muskrats. Gerald has caught over 700 mink…..that is not a typo…….several hundred raccoons and muskrats in a single trapping season
This week on Trapping Across America we are covering a lot of trapping topics. We will cover and talk about using slide cables and slide chains for coyotes, the laws and crazy things the Maine trappers are dealing with concerning bear hunting with dogs, over baits and bear trapping. My new Portable Pocket DVD. Then we have a round table with all the guys from Trapping TV. We look at our trapping season and where we plan on taking Trapping TV next year. This is a long show, partly because I will be at the NTA next week. Hope to see everyone there.
This week on Trapping Radio we are talking about trapping and catching raccoon on creeks, rivers and rocky streams with canoes and small boats. Scott Webb is on the hot seat tonight. He is from North east Iowa. I have known Scott for many years, he is a very practical and a logical trapper. He uses a canoe on a nice smaller river and catches his raccoon with footholds, dog proof traps and a few body grip traps.
In this week's episode, Jeff Dunlap talks about how we did on selling our bobcats- the mistakes we made. Discusses conventions this summer and lessons from watching game cameras. Enjoy!
This week on Trapping Across America we have Ryan Schaefer from the great state of Louisiana. Just like always he is fired up, a ball of energy and fun to listen to. We are talking about mink, otter and beaver trapping. Ryan mage an epic mink catch last year with only a few dozen traps. I think he has got this mink trapping down with BMI body grip traps. In the middle of everything, we get into how trappers can catch more fur. You do not want to mis this trapping radio podcast. It’s educational and over the top entertaining with Ryan.
