Shauna and George Tiaffay were seen as a picture perfect couple, and they were genuinely happy until having a child and the financial crisis really changed George’s demeanor. One day in 2012, after separating, George brought their daughter over to Shauna’s house to get something, and the two found her lying dead on the floor, clearly brutally beaten. Veronica Butler was in a long-standing custody battle for her children with her mother-in-law, Tiffany Adams, for several years, but in March of 2024, it all came to an end when Tiffany orchestrated and carried out her murder. Veronica had been granted supervised visitation with her children once a week, on Saturdays, and on March 30th she and the supervisor, Jilian Kelley, were on their way to pick up the kids when they were diverted down a dirt road and ambushed by Tiffany and the rest of her accomplices. In the early hours of March 4, 2024, college student Caleb Harris was awake with his roommates, meeting their new dog, playing with her outside, and taking her out for a walk. Caleb stayed up later while his roommates went to bed. He messaged a friend, ordered food delivery, and then disappeared. The following morning when his roommates saw that all of his belongings were still at home, his food untouched, and his car in the driveway, they reported him missing. Update: On the evening of June 24th, human remains were discovered in a water lift station in Corpus Christi not far from Caleb’s apartment. At this time, CCPD says there is no confirmation that the remains are connected to Caleb’s disappearance, but a medical examiner will ultimately make that determination. Because there has been no formal identification, I ask that we do not speculate and keep Caleb’s family in our thoughts at this time. In June 2003, five-year-old LeeAnna Warner suddenly went missing after going off to play with a friend. Even after the entire town got involved with the search effort, there was no break in the case; no one could find the little girl. Susana Morales was 16 years old, living in Norcross, Georgia when one night she suddenly disappeared. July 26th, 2022 was a seemingly normal evening, and Susana spent a few hours that night a block away from her house with a friend, at her friend’s apartment. This was something she did often as it was less than a 10-minute walk from her house. But when she never came home that night, her family began to worry. She was reported missing the following morning, but it wasn’t until early February of 2023 that they got answers. On February 6th, Susana’s skeletal remains were found 20 miles from her home, and evidence left at this location led police officers to her killer, fellow police officer Miles Bryant. Lauren Dunne Astley was 18 years old and had her whole life ahead of her. But that all changed on July 3rd, 2011, when Nathaniel Fujita, her recent ex-boyfriend, strangled her to death in his garage. His motive? Their breakup. On March 7, 2013, he was found guilty and convicted of first-degree murder. Though her car was quickly found a few miles from her home, Jennifer’s body has never been found.
