But through it all, one ray of light was cast on women’s soccer fans when it was announced on July 21, 2020 that Los Angeles would get an NWSL team. On this episode we explore the quick successes of Angel City FC, as well how they are already changing the landscape of women’s football in America, the player-focused programs they’ve implemented, their first player signing of USWNT star forward Christen Press, and moreNot the flashiest player on the USWNT in the mid 2000’s, Angela Hucles was known for her super-sub status, steady play, and going about her business in a quiet, unassuming manner. Since retiring from play in 2009, Angela has continued her influence in the women’s game with the same attributes - behind the scenes and in the broadcasting booth.
