I hope you’re having a great week so far. We’re currently on a little podcast break at Working Hard, Hardly Working whilst we work on something hugely exciting which is coming very soon and I focus on opening the first ever TALA store which I still cannot believe is happening! But you know I would never leave you without inspiring content on a monday morning! So I’ve picked my absolute favourite episodes from the nearly 130 we’ve released. Today's is with the man with the most soothing voice in the world (who also happens to be a world renowned psychologist) Professor John Amaechi. Not only is he an Organisational Psychologist, an OBE, a New York Times Bestselling Author, a Fellow of the Institute of Science and Technology, a Professor of Leadership, a non-executive director of an FTSE 250 company and the founder of organisational psychology consultancy APS. He was also, more surprisingly, the first Briton to play professional basketball in the NBA league, a move which saw him leave his hometown of Stockport for the world of professional basketball aged just 18. And whilst playing, he was the first NBA player to come out as gay. Never afraid to stand up and speak out, his book made me question a lot of things I thought I knew about myself and the way I live and work. +JOHN'S LINKS: LinkedIn: https://uk.linkedin.com/in/amaechiInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/johnamaechiobe/?hl=enAPS: https://www.apsintel.com/ +MY LINKS: https://gracebeverley.komi.io/+SHREDDY, TALA and THE PRODUCTIVITY METHOD are my own brands, therefore any mention of them - whilst not being a sponsorship - is monetarily endorsed. But you know I would never leave you without inspiring content on a monday morning! So I’ve picked my absolute favourite episodes from the nearly 130 we’ve released. Today's is with the geneticist & fertility researcher Dr Helen O'Neill. Dr O’Neill is a leading expert in reproductive science, she’s a lecturer in reproductive and molecular genetics at University College London, she has a Masters in Prenatal Genetics and Fetal Medicine and a PhD in Stem Cell Biology. She is also the founder and CEO of Hertility Health, an award-winning bio-tech business specialising in fertility testing that has raised over £5 million since launch.Fertility is obviously a hugely sensitive topic, but it’s also one that we never talk about for exactly that reason. When I started this podcast, I wanted it to cover the important topics that we never get taught, and I learnt so so much from Helen that I really couldn’t believe I haven’t researched or known before. If you’re thinking about switching off right now because you find the idea of fertility testing terrifying like I do, I promise you it’s worth sticking it out and listening to this one. However, if you are someone who is currently struggling to conceive, or finds fertility conversations particularly hard, this is an episode to skip.+HELEN'S LINKS:Hertility: https://hertilityhealth.com/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/dr.helenoneill/?hl=en +MY LINKS: https://gracebeverley.komi.io/+SHREDDY, TALA and THE PRODUCTIVITY METHOD are my own brands, therefore any mention of them - whilst not being a sponsorship - is monetarily endorsed. Marie Forleo is one of the world’s most renowned life coaches. She’s a number 1 New York Times bestselling author, and has turned her life-coaching pratice into a broadcast empire, coaching over 100m people, hosting her own TV show in the US, MarieTV, and launching 3 coaching programmes online. After our New Year compilation episode about improving your life went crazy, I asked what other theme led episodes you’d like, and SO many of you said finances, money moola. So the aim for this episode, is everything you need to know about money, and I took this as a wide definition, we’re going from literally why money exists & why they can’t print more - to saving, investing, raising funds and even some deep stuff on attitudes to money & wealth. This kind of stuff is something we were never every taught in school - it’s crazy to me that I know more about algebra than I do how to save & spend my own money wisely. I hope you find it useful!Disclaimer: This podcast is information, not financial advice or reccomendation!+This episode is Sponsored by XTBDownload XTB today to start making your money work for you: https://link-pso.xtb.com/pso/tWvLH+EPISODES INCLUDEDRupal Patel: https://youtu.be/N8IrE0vW1zY?si=XKVSJ1dOOFp5Ht9AAnna Hartvigsen: https://youtu.be/2Bpqz5TLdSA?si=f1RlxmGMhozNZX3zSimran Kaur: https://youtu.be/N9db5YdH7rA?si=zszTgQQmV_8E5-YJJason Mahendran: https://youtu.be/bK7Ak3TZfXs?si=eXwgTUgFaYCE2GACVivian Tu: https://youtu.be/dLG1LI_7eSA?si=AcsyDievAofLYwS6Robin Sharma: https://youtu.be/TjqPBMidZAI?si=YDs8HGBU8JV6Oo_s+CHAPTERS0:00 Introduction & Sponsor1:39 What even is money?3:34 Why can't we print more money?5:49 Is it better to save or make money?8:18 The 50:30:20 payday routine9:22 How can I tackle my debt?13:28 How to learn about markets17:52 Getting investment for a company21:15 Tradwife movement & finances22:22 Why you should get a prenup27:50 The 8 forms of wealth+MY LINKS: https://gracebeverley.komi.io/+RETROGRADE, SHREDDY, TALA and THE PRODUCTIVITY METHOD are my own businesses, therefore any mention of them - whilst not being a sponsorship - is monetarily endorsed. Siff Haider was fed up with the lack of problem-specific supplements on the market, had an idea that would solve the problem, spent her wedding savings on making it happen, made $1 million dollars in her first year, and has now seen the business grow 10 fold. But I’ll be honest, this isn’t just an episode about Siff’s business journey. A few months ago I became obsessed with her tiktoks on the high maintenance rules she lives by to stay low maintenance, the routines she swears by, the hot girl habits she sticks to - and so this is genuinely a case of me inviting Siff on to have a chat all about exactly that. I joked the other day in my vlog that my 2025 aim is to get hot, in all senses of the word, and if that’s something you want to do this year too - this episode is genuinely a great starting point. Irene Agbontaen is a someone whose career is defined by being the change she wanted to see. Back in 2018, she was becoming increasingly frustrated at the lack of clothes on the market for taller women, so she took matters into her own hands and founded TTYA, which stands for Taller Than Your Average. We’ve done rebranding (planning for 2025), we’ve done discipline (actually sticking to your routine), and so the third and final part of the new year mini series is all about getting yourself in the right mental state to be able to achieve those new shiny goals you set for yourself.I discovered Maya a few months ago, and loved her approach to mental fitness as something we actually work on & train, compared to just talking about our ‘mental health’ as something we all have. So this episode is essentially a free session with a renowned brain coach, we did guided visualisations (permission to lol at my meditation face), she taught me how to mentally rehearse like Venus Williams & also said the best advice quote I think we’ve ever had in 122 episodes, hope you love it! +Download Revolut with my link, spend, and get £20 (End date and T&Cs apply) https://get.revolut.com/E528/gracebeverleypod+MAYAIG: https://www.instagram.com/maya.mental.fitness/?hl=enWebsite: https://mayaraichoora.com/Visualise: Think, Feel, Perform Like the Top 1% by Maya Raichoora is published by Rider (Penguin Random House) on 27 March.+CHAPTERS0:00 Introduction3:49: Working Hard or Hardly Working?4:48: The diagnosis that changed her life aged 1510:05: How much her healing journey was her mindset13:47: The difference between mental health & mental fitness18:56: The pillars of mental fitness20:55: Why training our brain gets harder after 2522:33: How to implement it into your life24:57: The basics of visualisation27:30: Showing the power of visualisation31:25: The difference between visualisation & overthinking24:27: The second arrow parable35:56: Controlling your emotions when you're exhausted42:27: How long does it take to build confidence44:20: How to stop falling back into your old routines46:31: How to stop using your past as validation49:02: How to communicate your growth to others55:33: The best advice she's ever been given+MY LINKS: https://gracebeverley.komi.io/+RETROGRADE, SHREDDY, TALA and THE PRODUCTIVITY METHOD are my own businesses, therefore any mention of them - whilst not being a sponsorship - is monetarily endorsed. Discipline is a weird one isn't it, the discourse is so massively dominated by podcast bros telling you to dig in, and when I googled 'books on discipline', I could barely find one by a woman. But it’s something should still speak about (even if it makes us seem podcast bro), because when we learn to harness it its hugely powerful, and actually sticking to a routine is so so much more important than creating one. The fact of the matter is that discipline is what actually keeps you going towards your goals when your new year's resolutions are crumpled in the bottom of your handbag.  If you missed the first part of our new years series with Roxie Nafousi, you can listen here: https://shows.acast.com/working-hard-hardly-working/episodes/ep-120-how-to-rebrand-your-life-in-2025-with-roxie-nafousi+Download Revolut with my link, spend, and get £20 (End date and T&Cs apply) https://get.revolut.com/e9Jc/gracebeverleypod+CHAPTERS0:00 Intro3:14 The Context, what is discipline?6:35 The Data10:23 The Theories, how does it work?18:00 Putting it into practice+MY LINKS: https://gracebeverley.komi.io/+RETROGRADE, SHREDDY, TALA and THE PRODUCTIVITY METHOD are my own businesses, therefore any mention of them - whilst not being a sponsorship - is monetarily endorsed. On a serious note though, facing 365 days all at once can feel overwhelming, but I truly believe that breaking it down makes it manageable—and honestly, pretty exciting. I’m not one for the whole "new year, new me" thing, but I do love the opportunity a new year brings to reset, realign, plan exciting moments and set achievable goals.I did a video last year all about how to plan for 2024, and it was one of our most popular to date. Jade Holland Cooper founded Holland Cooper in 2008 with the ambition to bring luxurious British heritage to a modern audience. What began as a small collection of tailored tweed clothing that she sold on a stand at horse shows, has grown into a global brand that now turns over £40m a year. I wanted this episode to be a deep dive into her journey—how she went from country fairs to building an empire, the key inflection points, and what it is about her that’s given her such a mindset for success & viral product creation. I am very excited for today’s episode as it’s with the brilliant Cass DiMicco, one of the most stylish women online & founder of one of my favourite jewellery brands, Aureum, that she built to 7 figures in its first year.Cass began her career as a fashion buyer for one of America’s Oldest department stores, whilst spending her free time posting her outfits on her blog & instagram, fast forward over a decade later, and she’s renowned for her timeless personal style, which feeds into the brand she’s built at Aureum too. +Download Revolut with my link, spend, and get £20 (End date and T&Cs apply) https://get.revolut.com/e9Jc/gracebeverleypod+CASS:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/cassdimicco/?hl=enAureum: https://aureumcollective.com/+MY LINKS: https://gracebeverley.komi.io/+RETROGRADE, SHREDDY, TALA and THE PRODUCTIVITY METHOD are my own businesses, therefore any mention of them - whilst not being a sponsorship - is monetarily endorsed. Laney Crowell is a founder I’ve wanted to speak to for such a long time, so I knew I had to pin her down on my trip to New York. She founded beauty brand Saie in 2019 after a five year stint at Estee Lauder that made her want to disrupt the industry, and to Saie (pardon the pun)  it’s gone from strength to strength is an understatement. Laney’s career though was not an obvious entrepreneurial path - she started out on film sets, entered into the world of new york magazines, and even interviewed to be Anna Wintour’s assistant 7 times before landing what her dream role, leading social & eventually global communications for Estee Lauder. It was a big job, but she wanted even bigger, more disruptive things, which ultimately led her to Saie. +LANEY:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/laney/?hl=enSAIE: https://saiehello.com/ +MY LINKS: https://gracebeverley.komi.io/+RETROGRADE, SHREDDY, TALA and THE PRODUCTIVITY METHOD are my own businesses, therefore any mention of them - whilst not being a sponsorship - is monetarily endorsed. Today we’re talking about how to become more confident. I really believe that confidence might just be the key to happiness, whether it’s in your career, your personal relationships, or even just how you talk to yourself. And understanding the root cause has shown me that confidence is something you can learn, it’s like any skill. And if there’s one thing I love - it’s learning skills. So i’m excited to break it down.+READING LISTI owe a huge amount to the writers & podcasters below whose work I researched for this episode!Mel Robbins on Confidence: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YZn2Q4IU53kAmy Cuddy on Body Language: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ks-_Mh1QhMcFor the original confidence-competence research: Stajkovic, A. In addition to these events, the astrophotography community also captured images of the Orion Nebula, the Worm Moon, and the Milky Way. The Orion Nebula, a stellar nursery, was beautifully rendered, revealing more detail than ever before https://orbitaltoday.com/2024/04/12/not-only-eclipse-last-week-in-best-astrophotos-5-12-april/ The Worm Moon, named for the earthworms that emerge as the ground softens with the onset of spring, was brilliantly illuminated1. The Milky Way was captured in all its splendor, reminding us of the vastness of our galaxy.
