Guys. 35 year restaurant owner here. You're not supposed to touch "ready to consume" foods with bare hands. If it's going to be cooked before serving then touch the hell out of it! If it's going to be served immediately without being cooked you have to wear gloves or use utensils. The fruit skewer thing is, in fact, disgusting.
