[Part 1 of 3]
In early 1969, 15-year-old Rose Letts was waiting alone at a bus stop in the English town of Cheltenham when she was approached by a much older man. 27-year-old Fred West was poorly dressed, dirty, and had a mouthful of green, chipped teeth from years of neglect. While Rose found Fred repulsive, something about him excited her.
From this chance encounter, the pair initiated an intense relationship that culminated in their marriage three years later. Mr and Mrs West then settled into their ideal family home in the city of Gloucester - 25 Cromwell Street.

In 2003, 12 elderly women were killed in their homes in Mexico City. Most were strangled and robbed. Fears arose that a serial killer was on the loose, with the media dubbing the perpetrator ‘El Mataviejitas’ - The Little Old Lady Killer.
Police initially dismissed the serial killer notion, until the victim count continued to rise and the evidence became too strong to ignore.

the pronunciations are killing me
so sad
I’m Australian and was a kid when this happened, so I’d never heard of this case. Didn’t expect to be that interested in a bank robbery story, but holy wow. This was INTENSE. I can’t believe the only people that died after 1100 bullets fired - incl from automatic weapons - were the gunmen! IF the police actually did deny Amil medical attention… good, honestly.
I knew the dude didn't exist when I heard his lawyer supposedly snuck a cell phone to him in prison. And shorter sentences for forging visitors! 😆
Camilla afflicted Renae with classic coercive control maneuvers, which are considered domestic mental abuse and are punishable in most countries. Camilla is nothing short of an evil narcissist. She deserves to be in prison.
to say this case is like the Erikkson twins is more lies and utter nonsense!
What was the first 5 minutes about Seraphina for? I expected a tie in but it was never brought up again.
Her appeal was granted: https://www.abc.net.au/news/2022-10-04/convicted-murderer-susan-neill-fraser-out-of-prison-on-parole/101495448
This episode skims over a lot of details. One of the reasons the police had such a hard time narrowing down a lead (and probably the same reason reason the town didn't persue the rumors of who the killer was) is that the victim was kind of the town bicycle. It didn't matter if someone was underage, married, or anything, anyone without a Y chromosome was fair game. Probably half the men in the small town had a reason to want him dead, and many who heard the rumors probably figured he had it coming.
She thought that she would endlessly escape bad things happening to her if she engaged in bad behavior? 🤔
only one episode so far!
It's disgusting to hear all those statements from neighbors and so-called friends about Sophie's abuse, that no one did anything! Why do they even talk about their indifference?
That piece of crap should have never been released. Does not matter how young he was when he committed those crimes.
So dumb whenever I hear ppl say stuff like they know ppl in high position..u automatically know they are bullshitting..lol..wack af..
Such a harrowing story. What painstaking resesearch must have gone on to provide such an indepth account of all those involved. Case File podcasts on crimes that have taken place are I find portrayed in a highly professional respectful manner. Griping factual accounts, not sensationalised, great fitting music and cadence of reader perfect for me. Thank you to the originator & team.
Nobody heard the gunshots?
