Warning: Shane does talk about some of his early career working in labs doing experiments with animals, so if you want to skip this detail, please fast forward to 1:30.New for 2022, I will be exploring a number of examples of AI Art using a range of generative algorithms to achieve the creation of AI Art. In this episode I discuss with Data Scientist Shane Neeley, who has himself experimented with generative algorithms to contribute sections of his books.  I recorded this episode towards the end of last year, but it seems even more relevant than ever for 2022.AI Art take many forms, and in future episodes I will explore other artistic mediums that AI can contribute. However this episode, and Shane's experience has been with text generation. Shane is an experienced Data Scientist with a demonstrated history of working in the software industry. Skilled in many aspects of biomedical and clinical application development. Well rounded machine learning background that includes aspects of natural language processing, document classification, sentiment analysis and computer vision. Strong engineering professional who graduated from Rice University.Shane also give some great insights and advice on how to get started in Data Science and build a career in AI and Machine Learning. He also gives some guidance on how to get started with generative algorithms. You can see Shane's linkedin profile here: https://www.linkedin.com/in/neeley1/ and visit his website at https://www.shaneneeley.comIn future episodes, I will be exploring other forms of AI Art, from Music, Images, Videos and Films. I will also look at how these technologies can also be applied more into the world of Science, Innovation & Invention.

To launch the fourth series I am delighted to announce the first episode: Fireside Conversation with Michael Wignall, Azure Business Lead at Microsoft UK about building a data driven organisation. Michael Wignall is currently the Azure Business Lead at Microsoft UK and has been with Microsoft for 13 years, having a range of roles, from technology solutions leading all the way to CTO of Microsoft UK. Michael comes with vast experience and knowledge of both Microsoft, but also how data and analytics is helping to drive the performance of their customers. He covers everything within Azure, from the core technologies, to data platforms, IoT, Quantum, Mesh, VR & AR.For inspiration for the conversation, I used three key topics covered in the recent eBook by Microsoft, entitled “BUILDING A DATA-DRIVEN ORGANISATION - How analytics can give you a competitive edge”. Specifically, disruptive business models, scaling AI culture, and improving decision making throughout an organisation.
A discussion with John Spooner, who is Head of Artificial Intelligence EMEA at H2O.aiJohn is at the centre of one of the most important cloud independent ML platforms available which is founded in the open source and data science community but has evolved to become a major player in the scaled AI enterprise implementations. Our conversation covers a number of very interesting topics, including MLOps, ML Engineers, Cloud platforms, ML Applications, Driverless AI, the role of Data Scientists and much more.We also talk about the Kaggle Masters that H2O employ to act as consultants to help clients solve their most difficult analytical challenges and how these experts also feed into the algorithms that will get added into the H2O platform over time. Echoborg is an amazingly funny and thought-provoking show created afresh each time by the audience in conversation with an artificial intelligence. Listen to me discuss Echoborg with the Founder and Creator Phil D Hall. Phil brought his AI show to my AI Conference last year and it was a big hit with everyone who experienced it, myself included. Phil is a great guest and even manages to get me talking about my Computer Science teacher from high school, Mr Fry, who really got me excited by the wonders of technology. A discussion primarily on human and machine interactions with Bogdan Grigorescu who is an experienced AI practitioner. This is an extended discussion covering many different aspects of human and machine interactions. Covering both how we use technology in our personal and work life and highlighting some of the challenges of using more intelligent technologies. Other topics include ethics and devops. For more information visit Pardoe.AI/Showand for Bogdan's linkedin profile visit https://www.linkedin.com/in/bogdan-g/
A recording from our monthly Live Show with Dr Ying Zheng co-founder and CTO of AIFI (https://aifi.com). Jen has an amazing list of industry awards and a thought leader in the space of data and analytics. For more visit https://Pardoe.AI
This is our first Byte-sized-Bits edition (less than 10mins). The topic is GPT-3 and are we being fooled by its amazing capabilities. The area of natural language processing and understanding with AI is  hugely important and still developing, but the advances we are seeing with these generative algorithms to create new content and materials is stunning. But we are being fooled by the capabilities. These algorithms are not as intelligence as we might think. Check out OpenAI and GPTcrush.com for more information on GPT-3.
Johan Steyn interviewed me a few weeks ago for his collection of AI interviews. In this edited version of the interview, I share some details on my background, the work I am doing with companies and AI startups, including highlighting some of the challenges these companies are having. I also talk about the book I am writing which looks to the future of AI, and the AI Book i was a co-author on which is focused on the adoption of AI in the fintech space. This is Part 1 of 3 in a series discussing the Definition of Artificial Intelligence. In this first part we highlight the challenges that prevent us not having a universally accepted standard definition of AI. We need to acknowledge that the journey to advanced AI is actually a Continuum of Intelligence (the title of my soon to be published Book), and that mapping the journey may be more beneficial than having a status definition. I introduce an alternative to a single definition that might become more useful, the Index of Intelligence that will help us map both the capabilities and capacity of AI agents. Part 2 will discuss in much more detail the Index of Intelligence, and Part 3 will discuss other fundamental capabilities of intelligence, including the misunderstanding and potential role of consciousness in delivering advanced AI solutions.
