Digest

Tara Raffy, CEO of OMEN, discusses her company's mission to transform OB/GYN care. Driven by personal experiences with inadequate healthcare and witnessing the US maternal health crisis (high mortality rates, NICU admissions, and widespread dissatisfaction), she transitioned from McKinsey to found OMEN. OMEN's three-pillar philosophy focuses on convenience (easy scheduling), a hybrid approach combining traditional OB/GYN with functional medicine, and improved communication. Their services include OB/GYN visits, pregnancy care (with an innovative group prenatal care model), and PCOS treatment, emphasizing root-cause identification and personalized plans. OMEN faces challenges in balancing affordability and quality while scaling, aiming to demonstrate value to insurance companies for better reimbursement. Tara shares her entrepreneurial journey, highlighting fundraising difficulties as a female founder and offering advice on persistence, finding the right investors, and building a strong team. OMEN's high Net Promoter Score (97) reflects strong patient satisfaction.
