In 2012, Sandra Melgar was spending the night before her wedding anniversary with her husband, Jaime, when their dogs started barking somewhere in the house. Sandra says she had a seizure and doesn’t remember much else after that, but she was found the following day barricaded in her closet, bound on the floor. Her husband was found stabbed and beaten to death nearby.
