Soft Cell's Final Album 'Danceteria' Inspired by Morphine
Update: 2025-11-30
Description
Danceteria, the final album from Soft Cell, is a poignant farewell from the iconic synth-pop duo. Co-founder David Ball, who passed away last month, was inspired by his morphine-induced experiences to create the new music. The album, titled Danceteria, is a digital reflection of the sounds he heard in his head during his hospital stays. Ball and Marc Almond, the other half of the duo, completed the album just days before Balls death. The album, set to release in the nineteen eighties, will close the circle on Soft Cells story and its myths, solidifying their place in music history.
