I'm sorry buy I was going to laugh during this episode. didn't know i was supposed to be crying at the end. maybe I don't get the pure feelings the southern have. I'm just a dead inside hypocrite.
Love this episode. congratulations to all involved and it made me realise what side I'm on.
I think Malcolm grossly over values specificity and undervalues the artistic value of mild abstraction in lyrics. While attempting to pass those value estimates off as somehow objective. The beautiful thing about music and lyrics is that you can attach your own meaning to them. I don't necessarily have to know what Mick or Keith were specifically referring to.
I love this podcast and this episode. Well done Malcolm and team. and thank you.
Country music generally makes me want to vomit rather than cry. I have, however, been moved to tears by many rocks songs.
Fuck Malcolm Gladwell for putting down Wild Horses
do you think specifics are equally important for moving people into a more positive/optimistic mindset
What country stations do you listen to? I've never heard John Prine on a country, unless you count Outlaw Country Sirius XM.
