Nothing is "free" Independent Presidential candidate Andrew Yang proposed UBI not based on taxes. It was based on payment from corporations who use our personal data for profit without paying for it... Not a hand out. AI is set to replace several job sectors. Many will be out of work regardless of trying to get work. UBI is not enough to replace income anyway. It is possibly enough to bump kids into a private education.
guaranteed income is helpful for those that want to do meaningful work that doesn't pay enough to earn a living. you have to be careful who you extend this qualification too. so many jobs now. do not pay enough, and this should just be an extension to help people do what they love and still be able to live.
