We explore the importance of being kind to you, naming and befriending that inner voice knowing that it is only trying to keep you safe. Recognise patterns in the things that you are saying to yourself by writing them down and being aware of what is actually going on inside your head. We would never say these things to others, so why are we so awful to ourselves. Using awareness to navigate parenting and the aftermath to ensure that we don't end up storing trauma but can allow it to pass over us. Free Awareness downloadable cards available at www.neuroawesome.co.uk Support the show
We explore and normalise the idea of grieving for the life you expected when life takes an unexpected turn. On the journey of becoming a parent and all the expectations we have about our future children compared to the reality, there can be a real gap. This in  no way means that we love them any less but we go on a journey of accepting the life that we have and this is OK. Our mind fears the unknown and the unexpected and leads us to think that we need to be fearful, it is natural for us to have a whole range of feelings. Find me on Instagram @adhd.lessonsalongtthewayFREE Awareness cards can be downloaded at www.neuroawesome.co.uk  Support the show

Your child may need to bounce on a trampoline whilst doing homework or eat whilst busy playing. You may ignore some of your child's less helpful behaviours and focus on the positive bits!! To others this may seem like you are 'failing' or 'not a good parent' or 'lazy' or 'encouraging bad behaviour' - NO you know your child best and you know what works for you and your family. Your child's brain is wired differntly, so your parenting style often needs to be differnt as traditional cosequences and parenting styles just don't work. p.s. you got this! Follow me on Instagram @adhd.lessonsalongthewaywww.neuroawesome.co.uk Support the show
