Description
Learning how to be a better option than the bear. If men can’t listen to women, LGBTQ+, minorities, or anyone with a different perspective, then maybe they can listen to another man’s journey to become a better listener by having a conversation with these people and maybe meet some intriguing people along the way. This podcast is meant for everyone who wanders in with an open mind, from skeptics looking to better understand their fellow citizens, to the mildly curious looking for personal growth, all the way through die-hard feminists and activists; anyone who wants to work together towards understanding and making the world a better place.

From the guest:
My name is Florence and I am an artist, naturalist, early childhood educator, and a typical polyamorous Seattlite. In this episode my ADHD and I talk about how biology affects my worldview, how much I hate strip malls, and how I want to be treated as a persona and not just a woman.
From the host:
Surprise guest appearances by my cat and the omnipresent whirring of my 3D printer (my apologies!).

If men can't listen to women, maybe they can listen to a man listening to Nicole Davenport of the podcast "Great in the sack: when misogyny leads to mayhem". Nicole's podcast approaches the inaction in solving misogyny and femocide by bearing witness through storytelling to the way the world uses women and girls as expendable objects. We dive into the mechanisms of insecurity, incel culture, and lifting each other up instead of tearing our perceived competition down, and how the competition itself originates in downward manipulation.

If a man can't listen to women, maybe he can listen to a man listening to his mother talk about being a woman succeeding in the 1990s tech boom, changing careers, and somehow winding up back in tech.

+ If we want AWAKEN MEN, we - women - have to first FEEL the dark reality and demand awakening in a more assertive way. let's be honest, unconditional love and kindness have not worked so far. I would never show understanding and love towards harassment, bullying, etc. This is an old game, and some people know how to take advantage of this.
I found you completely by accident, but I'm already enjoying your first episode with your mom. As a girl from Iran, I've seen a lot. I trained myself to be independent and strong in an environment where women weren't encouraged to fight for themselves. I'm in Germany now—exhausted, but happy to be able to enjoy my weekend, painting in peace and listening to stories of strong women, and of men who have understood women's rights from the moment they were born. Now let me back to the episode :]
