The Miami Hurricanes needed a big win at Virginia Tech to make their case for the college football playoff, and what they got was outplayed in the second half of a 34-17 W that was much closer than it should have been- and quite honestly needed to be- for this team at this stage of the season.

Carson Beck threw 3 TD passes for Miami as the ‘Canes jumped out to a 20-3 lead, but the Hokies outscored Miami 14-7 in the 2nd half until the ‘Canes scored a late touchdown to add to their lead.

Miami will head back out on the road next week to face the Pitt Panthers on Saturday, with kickoff time TBD from Pittsburgh.
