Dave Dombrowski said that Bryce Harper did not have an elite season, and when he was pressed about it, he seemingly took a step back in an attempt to defuse the situation. Hugh Douglas of the 94 WIP Midday Show is confident that Dombrowski was confronted after the comments. Joe Giglio thinks that this whole situation was about Harper's contract, but once it became a trade dispute, Dombrowski shut it down.
