Jerry Oates is considered one of the great tag team specialists and known for his signature move the spinning toe hold. He is also known for teaming with his brother Ted Oates, Mike George and Ronnie Garvin. He has held numerous tag team and singles heavyweight championships. He mostly worked in the NWA territories in the 1970s and 1980s as well as Japan. On this episode, we discuss Jerry growing up in Georgia, How he got started in pro wrestling through his brother-in-law, are Ted and Marty Oates his real brothers, travel experiences, training Marty Jannetty, chemistry with other wrestlers and much more!
