As a parent I can’t imagine being in such a horrible situation that you are afraid that your child will kill you. I feel so bad for this mom, even though both her or the father made poor parenting choices, she didn’t deserve to die and as shitty as our mental health care is here in the U.S. I’m not sure she would have gotten the help she needed. As this case illustrates, the daughter didn’t get diagnosed and medicated until after she killed her own mother. Less than 1% of annual healthcare budget goes to mental health services, compared to Germany that is considered to have excellent mental healthcare model whose allocation is 11%. Guess we are going to need more deaths until it matters.

I’m not even half way through and I’m just hoping to learn that the father is in a wheel chair or maybe missing a shoulder or an elbow or something because damn. How could you just sit there in the phone during all of that waiting for help when every second counts?! 17 year old girl, boy I’d be through that door and on top of her in a heartbeat.
