Description

Ernest Tubb Record Shop Reopens in Nashville: A Blend of History and New FeaturesThe legendary Ernest Tubb Record Shop in Nashville, closed since 2022, is set to reopen on November 12th, offering a mix of its storied past and innovative additions. Originally opened by Country Music Hall of Famer Ernest Tubb in 1947, the shop was more than a record store; it was a performance venue hosting late-night sets from Grand Ole Opry artists. After its closure, brothers Jamie and Bryan Kenney, along with Tubbs grandson and musician Ilya Toshinskiy, purchased the building and began revitalizing it. The new space will include a honky-tonk, performance spaces, a rooftop bar, and a record shop, all while preserving the original exposed brick walls and displaying Tubbs personal memorabilia. The Midnite Jamboree will also return, broadcasting on WSM radio on November 15th.
