I dont think John called because he knew something was wrong or whatever. I think he called to set up an alibi. making it like he just called to talk to her to be able to say I didn't know something happened to her, I actually called to talk to her just after something happened to her. making it look like, he didn't know something happened to her.

i personally think it was john van cise(sp?) who wanted to be in romantic relationship but was put off and her producer said john had never called the station before but did that day!? i think she indeed had a stalker but she was a runner too so i think that doesn't have to do with her disappearance.
