Today’s morning meditation is a reflection on the unexpected gifts.
As much as we love to plan and pursue, some of the most beautiful blessings are unexpected. So today we reflect on all those unexpected gifts we’ve experienced, so we can enhance our awareness and our appreciation of them.
Take a moment now,
To breathe in deeply,
And exhale fully.
PAUSE…
Allow the chatter of your mind to slow down,
And quiet.
PAUSE…
Relax your body,
From the top of your head,
To the bottom of your toes.
Melting into comfort,
With each breath out.
LONG PAUSE…
How have you received unexpected gifts?
PAUSE…
Maybe kind words were spoken to you?
Maybe your babysitter offered to stay a little longer?
Perhaps a friend surprised you with a card.
PAUSE…
These gifts could be small,
Or significant.
Just let them all float up now,
And gather in front of you.
LONG PAUSE…
Let your heart remind you,
How it felt to receive these unexpected gifts.
PAUSE…
Behind each gift is the thoughtfulness,
Kindness,
And time.
LONG PAUSE…
Feel the gratitude expand,
As you think about these gifts.
And feel yourself open,
To receive more.
