Los Angeles County prosecutors have charged Nick Reiner, son of director Rob Reiner and producer Michele Singer Reiner, with two counts of first-degree murder. Authorities allege Nick killed his parents in a brutal double-slaying at their Brentwood home. If convicted, he could face life in prison or the death penalty. The district attorneys office is considering the death penalty, despite Governor Newsoms moratorium on executions. Nicks defense lawyer, Alan Jackson, confirmed his representation but noted Nick had not been medically cleared for court. The Reiners daughter, Romy, discovered the scene.
