Song Writing & Rights Management
Update: 2022-12-26
Description
Songs popping up in commercials, movies & television is not a new thing. However, you can end up very surprised when it happens with a certain artist or song. How many people were shocked when they first heard "Revolution" by The Beatles being used to sell Nike sneakers? It can be done well, but we seem to be still figuring out how.
With the recent rise in seemingly every legacy artist selling the rights to their catalog, it makes music fans wonder how & when these songs we love are going to be used. We felt this warranted a serious discussion, so we called our friend Dayton from the dockingbay77 podcast to help us out. In this episode Russ & Dayton talk through everyone from Taylor Swift to The Beatles to Black Sabbath and more. It's Season 7 Episode 12 of the CEO of Reebok's favorite podcast: the Infectious Groove Podcast.
