The Conservative Activist Pushing Trump to Attack U.S. Colleges
Description
This week, we interviewed two people with leading roles in the rapidly escalating conflict between the Trump administration and American higher education.
Today, we speak with Christopher Rufo, who led the conservative critique of, and assault on, critical race theory and diversity, equity and inclusion efforts. Mr. Rufo’s vision and campaigning have helped inspire Trump’s wide-ranging crackdown on higher education.
Earlier, we talked with Christopher L. Eisgruber, the president of Princeton University, about the institution’s path forward in the face of drastic funding cuts, and his vow to protect academic freedom at all costs. You can listen to that conversation here.
Guest: Christopher Rufo, a conservative activist and writer.
Background reading:
- Mr. Rufo helped make critical race theory a conservative rallying cry.

wow, I have never had to abort listening to an episode of the daily until today. mental health reasons... this self-diluted ego maniac should not be provided with a platform to disperse this rhetoric.
Michael, it is surprising to me that you didn't ask Ruffo about the danger of all minority appointments being marked down as DEI. Also, you let him describe his internal construct of "racialist" practices without asking him to define his terms. On the plus side, I liked your way of getting him to show maybe a bit more honesty than he might have intended. I hope you will provide us with some analysis of Ruffo's ideas, actions, philosophy etc
In the interests of truth perhaps Rufo would like to see someone like pseudo-historian David Barton appointed as head of one of America's leading universities. There's a reason why right-wing billionaires want to destroy education at every level, it's to ensure a compliant, uneducated, unquestioning, base of know-nothings who follow what they're told We are in the midst of a Judeo-Christian ultra right wing coup that has most likely installed right wing minority rule for decades to come
Mr. Babaro it is very disappointing that you let him make all his points about how put upon whites have been at the expense of minorities without asking him to explain why the position of minorities in our society is still far behind white people in general in terms of net worth and many other metrics and why black people are killed more often by the police per capita than white people. and didn't point out to him the legacy of slavery and Jim Crow. You gave him a free ride. Why? Scared of him
This guy is great at spreading manure from his mouth. As long as he feels his argument is the white thing to do, then, of course, the white wing can march to the white king
this guy is disgusting. why are you doing these interviews ???
Why the FUCK are you amplifying this NAZI scumbag?!
Stop platforming fascists
