As a former caretaker of someone who is schizoaffective, ths girls was clearly in a psychosis episode. Few people know how to handle someone in that state, even law enforcement. Even if they do have training for that, I can arrest from experience, that they cannot do almost *anything* to help. The vast majority of people who are schizoaffective/have schizophrenia end up with this story. So much so that it took me MINUTES to immediately recognize the behavior. This is so sad. Especially the asking for help but then no. That's common, as they have flashes of clarity and want help before the psychosis takes back over.
