Orval Tessier

He was known as “Mt. Orval”. Orval Tessier followed up his playing career with a successful coaching career in the NHL. He led the Blackhawks for three seasons. In 1983, Tessier won the Jack Adams Award as the best coach in the NHL. During the 1983 Campbell Conference Final, Tessier was quoted as saying his team needed heart transplants after giving up 16 goals in the first 2 games of the series with Edmonton. Tessier was a scout for the Avalanche in 2001, the year the organization won the Stanley Cup.
