Ah, the village square is lively today! Barefoot children laugh and chase one another, playing in the mellow sunshine while their parents haggle at the open-air market. The younger boys hold a fishing contest, dropping their lines from the bridge above the stream. The farrier is doing a brisk business, shoeing the farmers' whinnying workhorses while the village smithy hammers away, shaping heated iron into a nobleman’s sword. An angry goose creates a commotion escaping from the poultry merchant’s pen. But his fate is sealed; he will be the main course at tomorrow’s festival banquet. You’ve chosen a good day to visit, while spirits are high in anticipation of the coming feast!
